What is this rod?, and is it "out of adjustment" ?
I am a new member here and this is my first attempt to post pics, so I hope this works.
OK, so I just purchased a 2007 Montana 3600RE , for the purpose of living in it. I was looking over the rig at the sellers house and noticed this rod on the left rear slide. This is my first rig with Slideouts, so I am just beginning to learn about how it all works... and I have a few questions.
1- I'm assuming this rod is a hydraulic cylinder piston (?), for actuating the slide ? Is this correct ?
2- and if this is correct, ... then why do none of the other 3 slides have this rod ?
3- is this rod adjusted correctly with the gap as shown ?
or has it worked its way loose ?

I am hoping to get the rig moved to the 55+ community I will be living in next weekend.
(I dont have a truck to move it yet so I am looking around for a RV mover that can do this)
There are a few minor maintenance issues that it will need, and I am just trying to get all my ducks in a row, and take care of anything before they turn into possibly bigger issues.
Any and all replies will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers !

Can't answer all your questions as I don't have that model. Do not tighten the nut on the rod to close the gap. The gap is supposed to be there. Look here:

Hello,
#1, yes.
#2, other slides could be driven by cables or other style mechanisms. The slide opposite this slide if there is one likely has a cylinder rod as well.
#3, yes that loose looking bolt is correct having a gap.
Good eye there spotting that.

If you have a bedroom slide that mechanism is most likely under the bed so you won't see it exposed.

Thank you for the replies
As far as I can tell, of the 4 slides on this rig, only this one slide has this actuator rod.

That is a hydraulic actuator
The bedroom slide may also have on under the bed and not visible
I have a 2007 3000RK with the same actuator

Thanks
Yes there is one under the bed too. Unfortunately I could not see the threaded end of the piston to tell if it was adjusted similarly.

Ours and every Montana with hydraulic slides I've seen looks exactly the same. Definitely supposed to be like that.
