CONGRATULATIONS SUE!!! Quite a milestone! Hope that you guys are doing something really special to celebrate. Have fun with the next 25--with all our best wishes.

We are on the homestretch for 35 years which we think is pretty terrific. But bet there are a bunch who come along who have been married a LOT longer than that.

We've been married...to the same persons... for 43 years.

Ohh, by the way, Sue, does your husband feel the same as you do??

Kidding!!

Sometimes my wife will say, "Gee, it doesn't seem like 43 years, it seems for like 50!" But then there are the times she (and I) both feel its been just a few years.

Congratulations Sue. 25 years does seem to pass quickly. Our 25th anniversary was October 17th. I guess 1979 was a good year. Hope you go somewhere special tonight.

Congratulations Sue!!! The 25th is quite a milestone! Steve and I have married almost 34 years (in February) ... long, long before he was a Legend.

Enjoy your day and your time together!

Grats Sue. We are on or 41st. Wife says there ought to be a renewal clause at 25 so you jump ship if you want to. I don't know what her decision way back then would have been and I'm sure not going to ask now. Dan

Congratulations! A quarter of a century, an eighth of a bi-centennial! We celebrated 27 years in June. After reading this thread, seems like we're just babes in the woods, too!

I'm sure NOT somedays. We live together, work together and go to the barn together. He used to bug me about renewing our vows, but I think he gave up. No time, isn't that terrible.

Thanks for everyone's kind words. It is very much appreciated!!

Just found this...

The good ol' days

A couple of elderly RVers who'd recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary were sitting on the sofa in their Montana, when the wife said, "Dear, do you remember how you used to sit close to me?" He moved over and sat close to her.

"Dear," she continued, "do you remember how you used to hold me tight?" He reached over and held her tight.

"And do you remember how you used to hug me and kiss me and nibble on my ear?" With that, her husband got up and started to walk toward the rear of the 5er.

"Where are you going?" she asked. "Well," answered the husband, "I have to get my teeth."

Congratulations, Sue and (who is the lucky guy??)! Despite the many posts of many years' marriage your milestone probably puts you in the minority of all marriages! As Vicki said, we're coming up on 34 (even though she said on the forum I have digital diarrhea!). A good friend of ours has been married only once but frequently refers to his wife as "my current wife".

Actually, Vicki chased after me and kept after me until I finally slowed down to let her catch me! OK, that's not true. Our story is not really very romantic. We met because she and her co-workers were on break when I went back to the Navy base to pick up my civilian shoes (I'd forgot them and had only one pair) so a friend and I could go barhopping. And theeerrreee she was!

Steve & Patti, congratulations on the 35 years. And congrats to all the others who posted (too many to go back and list).

We've been married 42 years in February. A mutual friend set us up on a blind date. I went just to "kill time" until the next day when I was to see my boyfriend. Needless to say we've been "killing time" ever since. Where does time go. Seems like just yesterday.

Carol lived with my parents for two years while I was in the Army and she taught school in my hometown. After I came back from the Army and moved back in with my parents, only to find a woman my age also staying in the house, I thought of dating her. BUT to date a single teacher living in the same house in a tiny town (175) in 1960 would have certainly been the talk of the town.

When Carol resigned in January 1961 to go back to college for her degree, I asked her for a date the day she moved out. Our first date was January 20, engaged on March 15, Carol graduated college August 4th, married on August 13, and I started college August 28th... all in 1961. (Come to think of it, maybe we married cuz she had a car and a job so she could put me through school).

Then, in October of 1962, when the principal of the school Carol taught at heard that she was pregnant, Carol was given a week's notice that her contract was cancelled. (Obviously in 1960's in Wisconsin it was unthinkable that children would see evidence that their teacher might have had SEX!) My, how things have changed!

Sue,

Congratulations!! Debbie and I will be married 29 years in April. Today is both a "sad" and a "happy" day for us as our youngest and last child is leaving the nest today. She's moving to Tampa. We already have one next door (Georgia), and one in Virginia. I say "sad" because we hate to see her go so far away, but "happy" because we'll have a new destination when we get to go fulltime RVing. Now I guess we need to move into high gear with this fulltiming thing.
