Need help, hydraulics

We're near Terrell, TX and have lost all hyd. power. All we get is a "click" of the solenoid when we try to activate landing gear or slides. I've checked all electrical connections. According to my Meter, I've got power to the motor when DW hits the switch, but no action. Anyone got any ideas?

Low battery volts... Plug in to shore power an see if it makes a difference.. Converter could be dead so you are not getting a good charge to the battery.. Was trying to give you some causes to think about. Hope it helps..

Double check all of your connections, including at the battery. I had a bed connection one time that showed 12v but wouldn't pass enough current to light a bulb.

My big relay had to be replaced. The Lippert tech said it went bad because the nuts were loose on the battery connectors. Now when I check my battery fluid, I check all the connections.

What are the voltages to the motor, solinoid etc. You probably have the 6 point system, what does the display show for battery voltage.

Since you have a '13 I'd bet on a low voltage issue. Loose connection, etc.

Just about everything has been said here already on the battery, connections, and converter. I'd check to see if the inline fuses are good also and also check to see if you have power going to the converter. Since you have a 2013 unit you should still be under warranty and I'd be taking it to a local dealer or be contacting Keystone Customer Service for a recommendation as to who to take it to if you are not close to your purchasing dealership. Since you have your slides out I'd also be asking Keystone or the dealer about having a service tech come out to evaluate the problem. Not easy to tow the unit into a dealer with slides out!

There are two terminals on the motor case itself ... one for clockwise / one for counterclockwise ... place a jumper cable from the positive side of the battery to one or the other terminals and see if the pump runs then. If nothing happens ... I'd guess the motor has shot craps. If you need the slides to move now ... put a 1/4" allen bit in an electric drill and engage it in the center of the free end of the pump motor. Clockwise will put the slides out ... Counterclockwise will pull the slides in.
On edit ... if you have the level up system, you may need newer model owner advice on top of what I stated.

There is a Montana dealer not too far from where you are if you need them. Never used them so can't comment on their service.

Hi

That motor is “above ground” so you have to connect battery positive (+) to one terminal and battery negative (-) to the other to make it run.

If you just want to make sure it runs then it makes no difference which way you connect them. If you are trying to close or open the slides then you may have to try it one way and then the other if the slides go the wrong way the first time.

Thanks for the replies. One says hook to one side of the motor,one says hook positive to one side,neg. to the other. I don'twant to take a chance of messing something up really bad I've already checked every connection and all voltage readings are good when not plugged in to shore or TV.I've made arrangements to get into Holiday World tomorrow. BTW all slides were in and all gear up when this problem occurred. This is our first real trip of any distance. We'll just go with the flow!!!!!! Thanks again,

Dick be sure to call Keystone Customer Service to get you unit on the listing so that if and when Holiday World calls them they have you on file already for possible warranty work! Call Keystone right away in the morning before heading for Holiday.

You won’t damage the motor doing what either one of us said. Diselelguy and I are in agreement on that he just forgot that isn’t the same type of motor you would find on a lift gate.

Dick ... like Phil stated ... he and I both posted what a tech will probably check first when you take it in to the dealer. I just didn't quite say it correctly as the motor is not directly grounded. Since you state that slides are in and gear is up there is no emergency to compensate for. If you were a distance from help, there would be no harm with doing what Phil correctly proposed to troubleshoot whether it be the motor or motor controls. You'll find upkeep on our fivers isn't nearly as daunting as some firmly believe ... keep my statement in mind once your warranty runs out.

One person had a loose ground. In the hydraulic closet under the nose below the pump on the frame, black wire , hex screw.

I have experience with Holiday World of Dallas and all I can say is that you had better watch them very closely. That is a group I would not return to at ever! If you have to go there make sure that you talk to Michael Peay the owner of both from the Houston Holiday World. He is trustworthy.

You should consider going another 30 miles to United RV in Ft Worth. They are a Keystone dealer and have a Lippert rep as well. They did some warranty work for me and I was very pleased. Good luck

Like HOOK says a large number of us have had to tighten the grounding screws. They are generally near the pump motor some time they get loops for whatever reason.

I bought a M/H from Holiday World in Houston/Katey, TX. This was a few years ago, but their service department sucks. Maybe they have improved, maybe not.

Again, thanks to all for the replies. With what I have heard here, I've decided to go to Crestview RV in Budda as that is closer to our destination anyway. (We've gotten some poor comments on Holiday locally as well).
