3850 furnace short

We got to San Antonio last saturday. Turned the furnace on to take the chill off tues. morn and the 12 v. furnace fuse was blown. Replaced it with a new fuse and pop, a direct short. The man I had do some work for me here last year was in the park later that morn and asked him to look at it as cold weather was comming in. The man is very good, found the short and took care of it. $120. Cool. Now do ya think Keystone will be so kind to reimburse me or hang me out to dry? Yes I realize maybe I should have got preapproved but I flagged the man down, he had the time to look and fix the short and he is certified for rv repair.

Call them anyway, it can't hurt anything. Tell them it was an emergency needed heat situation. They did approve a similar thing for us a few years ago, but I did call them first.

Out of curiosity, was the short related to a loose connection beneath a wiring nut? We had the same issue on our 3750 and it was repaired at a dealer under warranty. I agree that you need to contact Keystone, but in reality, that contact should have been made first. Hopefully they will do the right thing. Keep us informed.

Bingo, it was an ether cable or something similar to that. It went to the thermostat. I intended to call them first but the man was going by,and flagged him down. If keystone won't pay then it sucks to be me. I believe it was worth the 120. that I didn't have to break camp and pull up I-35 20 mile and maybe spend a night in a motel!!!!! Brent
