I think you will be very happy with your new truck - I am certainly very happy with mine. I had a goal of 12mpg towing our Montana Mountaineer and our last trip was long enough for me to get that. From Evertt in WA to Bend in Orgeon (so not all freeway) and we achieved 12.1mpg. On the freeway doing between 60-65 most of the time. Better on the freeway section down to Portland. Very happy.

Thanks guys! I actually am currently driving a '72 F100 so this is going to be like going from a biplane to a jet since I'm skipping a few models in between. Hope to have it for a long time and this will be my first diesel.

That's good to hear, I have been hearing about 13 so that's right there. Not bad with a 15k pound anchor behind. So you went right past me, I'm just down in Vancouver. We were just talking about Eastern Oregon as one of our first trips, but probably wait until spring for that one and do the coast and valley in the meantime.

I just saw a road test of the Chevy Dodge and Ford. Towing they got 9.7 max MPG. The Ford got 9.7 with the Chevy at 9.5, with the Dodge coming in at under 9. Motor Trend has a Chevy Duramax in its long term test fleet. It is averaging 13.7 MPG.

With the poor reviews GM has got over the years and all of the advertising they have done in Motor Trend I don't think they can even buy it.

Yeah, I can't wait - see you've got the same rig. We were previously pulling a travel trailer with our Expedition and were pretty well maxed out on weight so not a real pleasure to tow. With this rated at 21,500 and the trailer not even 16,000 I'm expecting to hardly know it's there... First F350, first dually, first diesel, so I am REALLY looking forward to it. I checked out your site, really cool. Enjoyed watching the videos.

Thanks Fire5er, looks like yours is pretty much the same. Have to love all the climate control like the seats. Finally wife can heat her seat and I can cool mine and both be happy

Thanks for your service as a firefighter!
