An apology to all Ford Owner's

Long time members of the forum know I am kind of partial to vehicles with bow-ties on the front and that in fun I have been known to pick on those who have the blue ovals on the front, along with others. Time to eat crow now and no I did not get rid of the dually. The time has come for a new company provided vehicle and after ten years of being provided a truck with a bow tie on the front, I learned today that I will be provided with a Ford F150 this time around. I am actually looking forward to it, eager and excited as well. It will be an XLT package with chrome, convenience and plus package with a black exterior. The interesting part will be keeping the thing looking as good as it does in the pics I have been reviewing. Dirt roads, winter travel, etc., etc. does not usually lend itself to a black and chrome truck. But, all in all, I will definitely not be complaining about this Ford. Consider me mildly converted!!!!

With a Ford you don't have to explain or defend your choice or criticize others for theirs.

Apology accepted! We each have our favorites, and all do a good job, at least in their owner's eyes. Hope you like your 150, and hope you like your bow tie! I love my oval!

I'm speechless!
Wow what a switch, I never thought I’d hear that from you. No apology is needed; I know it was always in fun. You know I can’t criticize your bow tie whenever it took our Monty home when the Ford laid down on us. Just don’t try and pull the 3750 with the 150, something tells me that won’t work.

Gets awful cold in WVA, does it have all the options? If I were you I'd ask for the heated tailgate. So your hands don't get cold when your pushing.

That pretty much says it.

You will love it. I am excited and happy for you. Nothing like a new truck, and a free new truck is even better.
I had 6 Chevy trucks I bought new for my service work, very nice trucks, gave me good service. I just thought I would try a new Ford, it was a pleasant experience. Not a bad word about Chevy's at all, but I do love my Ford, even with some service issues that would happen with any brand.
Enjoy, my friend.

Now that we have a renewed love affair between Ford & Chevy, how about embracing the "red headed step child" known as DODGE. LOL

Has anybody tried Ford's F150 Ecoboost. It has as much power as my brother's 454 had. How about 420 TK at 2500 PRMs and 365 HP at 4000 RPMs. Its rated to pull about 11000 pounds. It is rated at 22 miles per gallon. All of this is with a 3.5 L engine.

When my dealer principle offered me a Ferrari to drive as my demo, I declined, telling him I would only drive a Ford....

Don't I wish.....

The key words in the OP's post are "company provided." Tranlation, he had no choice and is stuck with it!

Tom is correct, my input was limited to the only two things that I really wanted in a truck, drivers side power seat and 1/2 ton instead of 3/4 ton. But, with all the goodies added (Chrome, 18" tires, off-road package, reverse sensing system, heated side mirrors, power sliding back glass, power adjustable pedals, sync voice activated systems, chrome step bar, 5.0 ltr engine, key-less entry, and a few others) I am definitely not going to complain about being stuck with it!!

WOW,nice truck!! It's nice to see a company is willing to supply a truck like that. At the places I worked,if we needed to have a truck the options were, doors,seat,4 tires and try not to use it to much, were trying to save gas!! When they came with air, that was spoiling the driver.. Not to say I'm jealous

Too cool!!! You will get spoiled driving that around. I sure like our 2011 Edge that has all the bells and whistles. Now if I could adapt some of those goodies on my 96 F350 I would be happy.

The surprise happened sooner than I thought. Went to a meeting at work Friday afternoon, and the purchasing director walked in and handed me the keys. Nice truck is right, got to drive it home and it drives and rides like a car. Hopefully it will hold up well on the mountain.

Bingo, the guys are gonna take away your secret key to the Chevy club!!!! Actually I almost bought a Ford 450 a few years ago until the guy told me 7-8 mpg towing. Really liked the truck though. Now my Chevy 3500 dually gets around 11-13 towing and 14-16 non towing....Take care of it and it won't be Found On Road Dead!!!!! Kidding of course. Enjoy it....

90% of all the Ford trucks built since 1990 are still on the road, the rest made it home.

If you can't drive a Dodge, I guess you can "make do" with a Ford or Chevy!
