Future Fuel Prices ?????

Sooo, I pulled into the local gas station this morning because I was low on diesel. Swiped my card and as I looked down to pull nozzle out, this is what I saw
Lord, I hope it never comes to this...

Wild Horse,
That's cute but you need to complete the story! What was the real price? And by the way just a couple of years ago we were paying $5 per gallon. Not too awfully far from what you pictured.

Thanks,
HamRad

OK,OK....I don't know why the price was that, neither did the clerk. It was early in the a.m., and I was in a hurry on the way to the hospital and needed some fuel.

I didn't need it that bad tho' ! Normally right now, it's running about 2.75

Bill,
Thanks! Here in Bakersfield, CA the price is up to right around $3. It's gone up almost .10 in last couple of weeks.

I appreciate your coming back with info.

Dennis

I just finished paying $3.09 and that was the cheapest I could find!

Worst I ever paid was $5.87 two years ago during the BIG gas gouging period. Got stuck coming out of Yosemite Valley with a low tank after passing up other stations with about the same price. Fortunately/Unfortunately depending how you wanna look at it, it was my buddy's turn to pay since I paid for the way up. I think I paid $4.25 on the way up. He was NOT happy but he wanted me to top it off. So I put in about 5 gallons and we filled up the rest when we got to Fresno.

Current reports indicate that fuel is at a 20% less worldwide demand right now compared to two years ago. The concern is oil closed today at nearly $82 per barrel with demand being so low. If the worldwide economy rebounds and demand goes back up that $8 price may not be far from reality. Hopefully the Chevrolet Volt will lead the way to better conservation and helping keep demand for oil under control. It will be nice to see an American vehicle kick the import's rear ends too.

I paid $3.09 for diesel two days ago in Connecticut...that was the lowest in the area I could find at the time. Other stations were up to $3.20 per gal.
Fuel has jumped at least 10 cents a gal in the past week and most likely will go higher around here

The boys are playing with the Commodities market again. They lost billions in the big oil plunge when the economy tanked and keep trying to push the price of oil up the get it back... The economy is still broke. Oil will go up 5.00 then drop back down. It is dues for a big retreat.

This could also be tied to the annual spring and fall oil company slowdown due to changing "blends" for the summer and then again for winter.

I watch something on TV about the Chevrolet Volt, you can't get them anymore, and they won't renew the lease either. (You can't buy them only lease). Looks like Chevrolet got the law over turned that was forcing them to make the cars, and they stop production of the Volt.. Not only that, but they will not renew the lease.. they pickup the car when the lease ends, and are running them thru a trash compactor. People interview about the Volt, loved them, and wanted keep them, but Chevrolet is not listening.

Just another reason GM is going downhill. I have been a GM guy all my life, and in the last couple of yrs I have seen and watched there actions. They have turned me away for sure.
