Nope, have not had that problem. Even ice rolls off the toppers. Sounds like the springs are not adjusted tight enough?? At least that is where I would start looking/asking.
That said, when we have ice/snow/water up there, we don't put the finger on the slide retract button and hold in constantly, we put each slide in a bit, stop, then in a few seconds start again. Allows stuff to fall or roll off, ohhhhh, and don't be standing nearby, or you will get wet, or worse yet a hunk o ice on the noggin. OUCHIE
