Head vs Hitch

If a picture is worth a thousand words, here are 3k worth.

Sudden contact with these:

will result in this:

Enough said, except for my thanks to Countryguy (both Al and Carol) and the other MOCers here at Bentsen Palm for the assistance and sympathy, ...oh and by the way, files (the metal kind) have come a popular item with MOC members around here.

That hitch has very very very sharp edge, take a close look at yours, if it is as sharp as John's and Steve Reigle's for example, you will get out a file, and take the edges down. Follow up with some spray paint to keep from rusting.

You are welcome for the help John, least we could do, seeing that you wacked your noggin helping us measure your bike rack!

That is a horable thing to happen, I guess that my tripod has keep me from this by not leting us get close, we do park head into the hitch and walk under all the time, may need to look at the pad that was recommended

John, that looks like a nasty cut! Hope you feel better soon. I already had a healthy fear of the hitch on ours, and your pictures have done nothing to alleviate it. You are most definitely correct about your picture being worth a thousand words...

Thanks for the reminder...

That's why God created "unconsciousness". Until you wake up, of course, but by then you are usually on pain meds. I count 10 staples, John, is that right? I'm surprised they didn't shave that hair in the area. I probably wouldn't. You know how hard that stuff is to grow BACK at my age??? I'm thinking of having my barber save my hair that she cuts. I'm thinking of a little Super Glue - liberally on the bald spots, then shake the cut hair over top. From a distance...

Looks like the Hitch won.

Guess you don't have rocks in your head after all but you surely do have a hole in your head.

Gotta agreewit Bob & Lee, I guess that tripod does serve a purpose after all.

John, sure hope your head is feeling better - that wass one nasty whack on the noggin! It's good hearing that you had some fellow MOC'ers around to help out. I did buy hubby one of the padded hitch covers that Sweetfire mentioned. We've still hit the hitch, but it doesn't hurt nearly as bad! It also helps to keep any dirt or grease off of us and our clothes. Take care!

Ouch, that must have been a shocker. thank goodness for painkillers. check CW catalog they have nice padded hitch covers for around $20. Got one on my last order and was pleased with it. It also has a zipper to open bottem to use your tripod. Hope your feeling better.

Oh wow, I know that hurt. Been there, but not to the degree of severity as your picture indicates. Just got bruised. Another Danger zone for me is the bedroom slide when out. I put tennis balls on the corners. It has helped. Believe it or not, I have a hard hat to wear when I am working around the rig. Be glad when this becomes just a funny story to tell around the campfire.

I feel for you my friend. I know if we didn't have the tripod I would have hit my noodle a dozen times by now. I'm breaking out the grinder for the just in case time. Thanks and hope you get to feelin better.
