brought it home yesterday

went and picked up the montana yesterday. everything went great. truck handled it great. weather was good, the only thing i had that was a deal, was some traffic and some lights, found the truck and trailer stop really good. i am in southern california and am wondering if anyone knows where a good place to get airbags installed at. the truck did fin, but i think for peace of mind it would be for the better. since i cant afford to trade up yet.

pep1977,
So glad to hear that everything went well with your new coach. The first trip home is always exciting, but just wait until you start that first trip away from home. It is even better! =) Enjoy the coach.

Congratulations on the new unit.

We are pulling ours with an older TV too and I plan to add air-bags before spring. Remember that it's what you are pulling behind it that counts.

Enjoy your new rig.

Congratulations. You never forget that first drive home towing your new coach. Just like I could not forget my first solo flight in an airplane. Well I think you get the picture. Good luck.

Shazam!! Like magic -- moved from shopper to owner. Exhilerating transition. All kinds of things to occupy your time and imagination. It's the doorway to lots of fun and sometimes some frustration. Glad you have that first pull under your belt. When I bought mine, the previous owner told me to "take what you need and let other people work around you." Here's hoping you and yours have the time of your life. Happy RVing....

pep1977 - Great to bring the new rig home and I am sure you will enjoy customizing it just for you. As far as air bags are concerned, I would recommend the Timbren lift kits. Its and effective and economical fit for your truck that squats under the load. I just had them put on a few weeks ago and we are travelling in the south and they really made a difference to the steering. Get them on-line for about $155 and a shop installed them for $60.

I think Camping World may have them. Many truck accessory stores also. I've heard the Timbrens do a good job and they're a whole lot cheaper. This is probably a personal preference item. I kinda like our airbags with onboard compressor as I can tailor the height to my particular rig and can adjust the ride on the fly when we hit one of those nasty interstates with the rough concrete laps that tend to cause that herky-jerky motion. I do not usually get rid of it entirely but usually can smooth out the ride considerably by adjusting pressure in the bags. But the Timbrens would be a cheaper way to go.
