max carrying capacity

i am moving to florida from utah in a few days. i have a few thousand pounds of household goods i would like to put in my 37' montana. i looked online and found that the most weight i can carry in the fifth wheel is around 2,300lbs. has anyone carried more than that? i am wondering how much i can actually carry safely. i have somewhere in the neighborhood of 5,000lbs.

you could blow your tires and/or get in an accident if somone pulled infront of you and you had to swerve and you had 5,000 in cargo , weigh your trailer, put in it what it rated for
then rent a UHaul or pay a trucker for the rest

You'd also likely be over the ratings for the axles on the FW and very possibly on your tow vehicle since some of that weight will be on the pin. I hate to say it but this sounds like a bad situation. You are smart to ask the question instead of just doing it.

Don't do that.You will be an accident waiting to happen. Whatever it cost to have that stuff moved it is worth it////

thanks for the good info y'all. i thought it would push the limits of the FW, but figured i'd ask anyway. guess i will stick w/ the manufacture's limitations.

i have a couple other questions for y'all. does anyone have a stock CTD 2500 that pulls a 37 footer? if so, what kind of fuel mileage do you get? just wondering what to expect on my 2,000 mile adventure to florida. also, is it worth doing aftermarket exhaust, intake, and chip? ok, last one, my dodge is a short bed...do i need airbags or overload springs? i'm just worrying about it squating too much. just trying to get the best info since i pick up my 3400RL in MO on my way to FL. thanks!
