I too run LT tires on my trailers and have for years with no problems. Both are in the range of 12K lbs and run in the Texas heat at maybe just a tad over 65 mph lol......But if you want to stop some of the bounce when parked, pick up 2 of the BAL X wheel chocks. http://www.campingworld.com/shopping...ng-chock/43891 Or something simular. Not only keeps you from rolling down hill but does stop sonme of the bounce and movement. My wife hates when the trailer shimmey shakes when I walk thru.
Thanks. I have the bal wheel chocks and they help with bounce but it still was very noticeably bouncy, even with with rear jacks and king pin stabilizer in place. The best improvement to,eliminate the bounce has been the g 614s with much firmer sidewalls.

Those x-wheel chocks look quite interesting! I will have to see if those look interesting to my husband as well!

BusyCarol: Could you please have a talk with my wife about how you like to upgrade the Montana and are so easy going! When ever I mention changing or modifying something on the Montana I get the "Eye Roll" thing. She usually comes around in the end though but you could help make it a lot easier!!

BusyCarol, we have been out camping on the Oregon Coast w/o internet access, just returned, and just read your thread about purchasing new 614's. I had mine done last Monday by Wingfoot Commercial Tire in Fife, Wa. Wingfoot is a Goodyear company store with 190 locations throughout the US. When I gave them my song and dance on our new 3582 and tire replacement, they were already familiar with the Marathon failures. I know it's too late for you now, but their price to me was $851.00 including tax and tire exchange. I am commenting now so maybe future owners can have a place to call and maybe get a good deal. I have a feeling each store may be a little different, but it's always worth a try. I talked to the general manager to arrange my best price.

Where were you in Oregon?

We spent 4 nights at Fort Stevens S.P. and 3 nights at Cape Lookout S.P. . The weather has been perfect with clear days and cool nights. We dropped the rig off in Seaside at Thousand Trails, zipped home to Edmonds for a few days. We will then pick Montie up and we are off to Cape Disappointment S.P. in Washington for a week. From there, we will slowly head down the Oregon coast and into California somewhere, subject to change.

We really like Fort Stevens and Cape Disappointment too. We just joined Thousand Trails - how do you like the Seaside one? We tried to get into it a couple times but no spaces. Enjoy your trip down 101!

We also just joined Thousand Trails, joined their zone pass program. Don't have much info to respond as we have only stayed 3 nights at their Seaside park so far. We see a lot of people at the parks, so I know it's pretty popular. At Seaside, I saw 5 Montana's parked there. Talked to three of them and they were not familiar with the MOC. Let's see if any join after my pep talk.

Would be happy to but I have to admit I am a bit of a 'tinkerer' myself! I have my own set of tools to 'play with'! I like to put my stamp on things and I LOVE to make things more efficient so hence the basement storage organization! If money were no object there would be a whole bunch of changes I would make!!! Let me know how I can help! If you both are going to Quartzite in January we could get together then!

ranch560...I wish I had your good luck! I called the Wingfoot dealer here in town first and I explained my dilemma and he said $400 per tire with nothing for the Marathons so you got a GREAT deal! The best I have heard of so far! Maybe if I had shown up with my dimple I could have convinced him to give me a better deal but over the phone I got zilch! Oh well...I am so much happier with the new tires on what is $600...OUCH!

We have the X-chocks and I really like them, have the G614's sitting by the "tire machine" at work just waiting for the opportunity to arise to have them installed.

I have Bridgestone Duravis 500 on my 3400. Probably 25,000 on them with no problems

CmdrDewey...that is great! That's a lot of miles...how long did it take you to get that many miles on them?

You may want to start a new thread with this question. This one seems to have lost it's life and no one may get a chance to respond.

The 'heat shield technology' sounds interesting.

I always love all of the marketing terms they come up...'Glacier Package'...as if you would drive your trailer to a glacier and park it or that it would handle 'glacial' temperatures. We live in Montana and even with the 'Glacier Package' we have to winterize our trailer!

Oh well...everyone has their gimmick!
