Ours also can with a pull out faucet w/sprayer. DW does not like me to do the dishes. She says that I use too much water.

Have you thought about installing a dishwasher? Many here have done it.

Thank you everyone for your answers!

In all the units we looked at before buying our Mountaineer, I saw only one rig with the pull-out rinser (SOB way out of my price range). Guess it's time to put on my plumbing shorts and install a new kitchen faucet.

Ditto here on came stock with the pull-out sprayer (2010 2955). On a previous SOB TT, we changed out the factory unit for one with a sprayer. I think it may have come from Sears, too long ago that I don't remember for sure. Wasn't a very had swap out.

I enjoy using dishes as well, and do the dishes. I do have a sprayer on my faucet. It sounds like you don't. There is a sprayer that replaces the airiator (that little screw on thing with the screen in it) on the faucet. Pull down a spray, push up normal faucet water flow. They are about $10. The only time I use the sprayer is for the dinner plates, but stopped that. I just use the little sink for rinsing with some distilled white vinegar in the water...cuts all soap..plates in, turn 180, done. If it's not enough...use a coffee cup of rinse water and pour over the plates.

You guys use your sink? We just let the dog take care of our dishes and conserve on the water that way too!

When we dry camp we do as you do Rondo, Smokey licks the food off the plates and pans, so when we wash them we dont have to worry about left over food going down the drain we used to use paper towels but that got too expensive.
I will help once in a while and get my hands wet, I always seem to get a reward for the help.

We replaced our tall neck faucet with a pull-out Price Phister about 3 years ago. The pull-out and twisting and height are a problem and we are now looking for something that is easier to use.

Being able to get large pots under the faucet without having to pull that cord out and push the button, would save water and be very convenient.

We have looked at the expensive...tall one that has the single control at Costco...how hard was it to install? Anyone have experience with this one before we plunk down the big bucks?

Our faucet has a sprayer in it. You can pull out the front part of faucet and use it as a sprayer. I'm sure you can buy one of these at Lowes or Home Depot.
Same here.

For as long as I can remember Montanas have come with the pullout faucet with the button on top to activate and deactivate the spray head. Is that no longer the case? We use that sprayer a lot. A lot.

I bought a Mountaineer, so that's probably the reason for my cheapie faucet, plastic floor registers, cap-less rear end, etc. When this one wears out, we'll upgrade to a Montana.

This has been a cool thread. I got answers from "Buy a good faucet, ya skinflint," to "Let the dogs pre-wash for you." Eeeewww....

I love this place!

Steve who said anything about prewashing by the dog! Isn't that OK for the formal wash?

With little dogs you have to do dishes more often or their tongue wears out too quickly. So, either get a big dog (or multiple small dogs and rotate them on dish duty) or count on doing dishes more frequently.

Steve, it's difficult to tell on a forum whether yours differs from ours or if maybe you have the same and your dealer didn't show you how to activate and deactivate the spray. Many of us learned this the hard way. So, if you already know this or yours doesn't have it, please don't take this as condescending or whatever. I'm hoping it's just a matter of the dealer not explaining.

Does your Mountaineer have the pull out faucet with the little rubber thingy in the head? If it does, push that rubber thingy (there's a button underneath) and it changes to spray. Then push the rear part of that rubber thingy to return it to a stream instead of spray.

Steve,

Our Mountaineer just has a plain old faucet, which I'm going to replace this spring sometime.
