How to remove hitch light?

2016 Montana 3000RE

I need to remove the hitch light (over the kingpin box) to wire an additional floodlight for my pin box mounted flagpole.
Anyone know how to get it out? I tried prying the rubber surround to no avail -- but I didn't want to break it so I didn't pry too hard.

I might install a switch for it to turn on separately, too.

It should just pull out with the rubber grommet molding piece. I had mine out, while wiring up some new Boogey Lights for the front cap. it went back in with no problems.

You might have difficulty if it is cold, but bartman is correct, just pull it out. If real tough maybe inject a little soapy water.

Thanks! I found the wiring for the Cap Lights and DS Scare light inside the hole so that I could rewire that light to run with the Cap Lights (and a rocker switch to disable the Hitch Light when not needed.
Once again, many thanks!

You can remove the screws holding the filion (vinyl sheet) covering around the pin box. This will give you some slack to work with.

I'm afraid mine doesn't have that fancy feature like the newer ones do, but great idea!
