3791 RD

New to the fiver... moving down from the maintenance of our motor coach... RVing for the past 6 years... we are now staying on the road about 7 to 8 months out of the year.

We are looking at the 3791RD...
If you have one what do you think... PROS and CONS

Our pull truck is a 2016 F350 6.7 Dually...
What type of hitch do you use?

Don't have that model, but we fulltime in the 3800, but do have thr f350 dually...abeit 2012. Have kept tabs on fifth wheels each year at tampa rv show. Rear den gives some storage in back, but you also lose in the front I seem to remember. But if the space fits you and the storage works then it should be okay for you. Think there are some rd owners on the forum. We have the reese elite 18k...would have goten the 25k, but there were none in our area when we needed to equip the truck. John

We also have a 6.7 dually and have a 24K Curt, which we like much better than our old Reese. And we installed airbags

Congrats on the new rig. Have had our 3791RD for about 18 months now and really enjoy it. It has been everything we hoped it would be!

I don't want to spoil your learning experience but I've posted a couple of reviews/lessons learned items on the forum if you're interested.

http://www.montanaowners.com/forums/...ad.php?t=65267

We only had 1 battery at delivery..upgraded the batteries:

http://www.montanaowners.com/forums/...ad.php?t=68486

In terms of pros...like that the awning area outside is unobstructed. Some other Floorplan have a slide sticking into the area under the awning.

Love the rear storage. Have only the grill and tank in basement. Otherwise nearly empty.

Love the residential fridge....esp the ice maker!!

Like when the door opens that lights come on inside. We put velcro above and below the button and use a velcro strip to keep the button suppressed when we have guests sleeping in the den.

Dual queen beds are great. Theater seating super nice.

Not a fan of led outside awning get lights....just too bright.

OEM King bed was BAD. Replaced platform...made larger...and installed sleep number bed. Appreciate that upgrade every night!!

We went with the Hensley TrailerSaver hitch. Added a Blue Ox bedsaver as well just for peace of mind.

Love our 3791rd!!

We are full timers and the 3791RD would be a "must see" if we were in the market.

With 5 slides that model has to be one of the "biggest" feeling Montana floor plans there is! The residential frig would be a huge plus in my opinion. Nice looking rig on their site.

You have come to the right place for Montana and 5th wheel information. Welcome! We have just went in the opposite direction as you (from Montana to MH) so I won't make any suggestions on hitches but there will be some pretty good advise coming your way from some pretty experienced folks.

We have the 3791RD as well and as Chris199 said so well the only thing I do not like is the led brightness on the awning other than that its awsome. Don`t care about the 2 queen beds in the den as far as the kids know it sleeps two + 3 Yorkies. We have added a Winegard Travler roof sat dish a washer dryer combo, 4 6 volt bats, an addition to the kitchen island to make it 18 inches wider and more storage. Have fun welcome to the site lots of good peoiple here and lots and lots of knowledge, ask away. Oh and went to a 1 ton Dodge Dually but thats another thread lol

We don't have the model you are looking at but one thing I would recommend to you is not to accept the tires that are on the unit unless they are either Goodyear G614s. If they are G rated Sailuns you will be OK also but do not accept the Trailer Kings if they are on the unit. They are bare minimum and you need a G rated tire.

My wife and I debated for weeks re a 3910FB or the 3791RD. I wanted the 3791, she wanted the half bath in the 3910. I lost, she won.

Welcome from sunny Colorado. We hope the forum helps. One other suggestion I would make would be attend a rally. They are the single best source to see in person what you read about on the forum.

I did move the floor vent so it parallels the cabinet and vacumed out all of the missing sawdust from the Keystone factory

We just make it with a 1 ton Duramax..not a dually. Add a washer/dryer and have 4 batteries...you're definitely in need of a dually...no doubt! We have no intention of adding the washer/dryer,...just appreciate all the closet storage!
