New Water Pump Recommendations

Needing to replace my water pump. Any recommendations? We dry camp quite a bit.

Depends on personal taste, but head design of the Shurflo pumps will give you higher pressure while flow rates are about the same. Maybe someone that dry camps a lot can chime in on merits of each. John

Replaced my original, noisy Shurflo with a Shurflo Revolution as have many others here. Much quieter.

Shurflo has been good for us for the last couple of years. I think this is the model we have, I know the 4GPM is correct: http://www.amazon.com/Shurflo-404815...ywords=shurflo

Replaced my original pump with Shurflo with the 4008 Revolution. Could not get just the check valve separately so had to buy the complete pump. Our fresh water tank was filling up every time we ran the water. And yes I made sure the Fill for the fresh water was turned off.

I prefer the Variable speed pumps. It runs based on demand, the higher the demand the faster it runs, but pretty much eliminates the pulseing, but there are generally a little more expensive.

I recommend the Shurflo 4008 as it is a really quite pump. You really have to listen to hear it running.
I had purchased it 2 yrs and 7 months ago and last week it quit pumping but the motor still works. I had to put the noisy Flojet back in.
The warranty on the pump is for 2 yrs so I am on my own to repair it. But, I thought I'd phone Shurflo and see if they would do anything for me. Lo and behold they are sending me out parts to repair it for no charge.

Installed the Shurflow 4008 Revolution. What a difference. Can hardly hear it. My old pump (flowjet), would sometimes never shut off.
Thanks for the recommendation.

Michelle what is the pressure on your variable speed pump.
Thanks in advance.
My stock pump is extremely noisy but seems to have good pressure and a decent flow rate.
Sorry I am not trying to hijack this thread but am interested in the variable speed pump.
