Entry steps

We are in need of new entry steps. Has anyone tried the aluminum steps that Lippert has in their product line? Looking for info on how well they are holding up under daily use.

They are very good. However if you have a unit with the first step inside your trailer then the bottom step is to low to the ground and hits at times.

Dennis, we have the 3 step unit and the height is perfect as it is right now. I guess I don't quite understand what you mean by first step inside trailer. I believe at fall rally they are pricing them at $200 installed at was thinking about doing that as I have replaced one rivet on ours and need to replace another one soon. We are having the I/S suspension system installed after the rally and that might raise the trailer a little so might have to wait till later to replace the stairs to get correct height.

We had ours installed at the 2012 Rally and they are great. Much sturdier than the OEM and still as good as new.

On some of the older units the floor did not go all the way to the door. There was a step inside the trailer. Our unit was one of those and I had the new steps installed at the rally. Then found that the bottom step was about 2 inches off the ground. They reinstalled my old steps.

That's kind of strange. Our rig has the "suicide" step and the stairs fit just the same as the old ones did. That could be because we added level-up, I'm not sure.

Our unit has the step inside the door. I would think a 3 step unit would be a standard dimension but we will see if the I/S suspension system is going to lift the trailer any. I am glad to hear you like the replacement steps so we will have them replaced when in Indania next month.

All you have to do is look at them and you'll want them installed. Much more substantial.
