Brad, I wouldn't think the ride of yours with 18 inchers should be much different than mine with 17 inchers. The 18 inch was an option on the 2005. I wasn't aware the 18 inch is now the standard. I know they went to 17 because of the larger brakes.

We also have the Off Road version 4x4 and the ride is good. The shocks are OEM Rancho, though, so maybe that makes a difference? What tire pressure do you run? If I run 80 all around all the time then the ride is affected. I run 65 front all the time and 65 rear when not towing. 80 rear when towing. Just trying to figure out why yours rides so hard. Also, what brand tires? These BF Goodrich have been excellent and have a nice ride. At almost 64k it looks like they have another 10k to 15k of tread left.

Don, the 17 inchers seem to be readily available. I don't know about the 20's though.

See another Montana or Mountaineer on the road? Flash lights twice, it might be one of us!

Steve,
Are you saying you may get 80K miles on those Goodrich's? WOW. All the trucks I looked at for 06, (built in Kentucky) had Goodyear or Continentals. Mine had Continentald, and so does Dory's Expedition.

I think my ride is more the "new" and the extra stiffness of the F350. No real complaints, I just noticed the difference from my old truck. I'll gladly accept a few bumps in favor of the new front coil springs and the extremely lower interior noise level design on this new one. I may drop the tire pressure back down a little after I park the Montana for the winter.
