Ac Gateway

I have a 2021 3931FB and we have had trouble with the ac/iN·command system since day 1. I need to verify that we in fact have the eol resistor installed on the gateway. Where would I find this resistor? Front unit, back unit? Where under the ac cover? Any help is appreciated.

On my unit, the eol resistor is on the gateway in the rear, heat pump, unit. The gateway is located in the return air section. After removing the cover, two screws and cutting the foil tape will give you access.

If you describe the symptoms you are having, the wealth of knowledge on this site, is likely to help you trouble shoot. The first thing you try is a full power cycle of the inCommand system that includes killing power to the gateways. That process often solves problems where the gateways are confused.

Also, check the system time and date on your In-Command.

The thermostat temperature is not showing up on iN·Command. I checked bothe gateways and controllers. MODEL NO.: 9430-5501 And MODEL NO.: 9630-756 in the rear (with hp) units and a 752 in the front unit. Both units will not display. Resetting and power down methods do not work. No loose or bad connections. Any help is appreciated.

Jimmy,

Confirm you have taken all power off your rig including shore power and disconnected battery cable (vice using battery disconnect key). This is the only way to truly cycle power.

I tried the battery and time and date. Still no luck. I ordered 2 gateways and will try that. Anything else I’ve missed? We have 5 chihuahuas and it is about to get hot in TN.

Try this support document. If it doesn’t help, contact ASA. They are very helpful.

Jimmy,

Attached photo is my HP controller (same model as yours). The red wire to the left provides the 12v needed for temp sensor. Possibly this wire to both units (likely one circuit) has an issue or a 12v fuse that is blown. Check the wire for voltage. Controllers are the larger of the 2 boxes inside the forward plenum access of the RTU (remove plastic cover, the the sheetmetal cover on top front of unit). The smaller boxes are the gateways.

PS - the small red and white wires just right of the larger red wire are the room sensor wires (tiny fragile wires!).

Solution

I finally found it. For anyone this may help, it was a loose connection to the can-bus behind the display. I asked ASA to update this in their troubleshooting guide. Thank you for all the help.

I was wondering if you found where this is on your unit? We are experiencing ac issues with our front ac. when we turn on from command center it stays on for less than 30 secs and shuts off. we thought maybe the sensor. nope. we did hard resets, not the issue. after calling keystone and affinity they believe this EOL is the issue. we have the part coming our way.
