So now we need a 'watch your step' sign by the door? That's a pretty good set of steps for a visitor that isn't used to it...

I personally wouldn't have a problem having them as long as they weren't peeling off and all ugly.

If the sticker was a real safety issue then it should be a nice brass plaque about 4x4 with Fire Exit engraved in it screwed to the wall over the approved exit, not some cheap sticker that peels off from age or sunlite. I actually beleive that any window in a trailer with a strong foot and leg with a good shoe would be an exit in an emergency. I will have to remember to have a fire drill the next time I have company. I better go to Menards tomorrow and get a roll out ladder for my window so I can get to the ground from my fire window. I wonder if some of my friends will fit through the exit?

Not only did I not rip off our mattress tags or the safety stickers but we Do have a "Watch your step" decal posted at about eye height to the right of the doorway in our 3400... The sign is for me as I already fell out of the camper....Yes you can get replacement stickers as we got them for the schools busses..as well as the "watch your step" signs.. Am I weird or what???

I think it's like the tags on your mattress. The dealer cannot remove it but you can. If I didn't want them there I'd take them off.

I am just joking of course..The Mattress tags are a requirement for the manufacturer as well as the safety sticker on the camper windows.Once the camper/ or mattress is yours you can do as you will.I would not take the safety stickers off the windows and if they started to look bad would replace them. Other folks not real familiar with your unit could be in there..Like your grandkids or their friends. Etc.. I think it is a safety issue.

Rich, I missed your comment about mattress tags when I posted mine. Sorry if it appeared to be replying to yours.

I'm not sure if this post is supposed to be funny or not, but I can't help laughing.
Okay, I'm at the store right now and the old "out of sight out of mind" is kicking in,,,,
but aren't the handles of the emergency exit windows red? I can't remember if we've taken
our stickers off yet or not. I know at one point I wanted to...if I haven't I probably will.

Tear that mattress tag off if you must but know this. There is a micro chip inserted into every mattress tag manufactured in the last 10 years. Rip off the tag and the chip will be activated and send your exact Lat and Long to a satellite obriting 22,500 miles above the equator and that information will be transmitted to the "Department of removed Tags", now a branch of homeland security and the mattress police will be dispatched to your location..You can only imagine what will happen if you remove the Safety stickers from the windows. Punishment will be swift...

One never knows when the "Matress Tag Police" show up and want to check for the tags......However, you can spot them real easily as they are the ones with their shirt collar tags hanging out.

Next thing we know you will be wanting to rip off that "do not remove this tag under penalty of law") tag on your mattress.
Rich...
Rich;

I can remember when I was a kid and nobody would take those tags off because it said it was a violation of federal law. Pretty funny thinking back on what people used to stress about. A supposed federal law violation was a BIG deal back then.

Of course now they changed the tags to indicate that it's OK for the consumer to remove them. It always was OK for the consumer to take them off, it was just poor wording on the tags. LOL

Of course there's a lot to be said for the old days and simpler times. Sorry about the soap box, you just brought back some pleasant memories ( so my pontification is your fault really, LOL) .

Edit; Just finished reading the whole thread. Funny stuff.
