Left Montana for Texas Today: Update

Update, May 30, 2012:

We are at the Oak Forest RV Park in Austin, Texas, and will be staying here until Friday morning, when we'll leave for Matagorda. The weather is gorgeous--hot, but that's ok! There's no place like home, there's no place like home . . .

______________________

Even in the middle of an approaching winter storm, we decided to leave Montana today and start heading toward Texas. Driving conditions between Dillon and Bozeman weren't too bad, but from that point all the way to where we stopped tonight (Sheridan, Wyoming), we drove through snow and rain and wind. In fact, it's still raining at 7:30 PM.

The LCRA campground in Matagorda, Texas, is going to look very good after all this continuing winter weather!

Be safe! We're camp hosting at the Council Grove Reservoir in Council Grove, KS a little ways off I-70. If you come this way it's 90 degrees so you won't have to wait for texas.

SNOW is a 4 letter word. I am allergic to the stuff. To have to drive thru snow this time of year just ain't right. Get back on the road and get here quick, it's sunny and 90's....

Usually we worry about bad weather in November, not nearly June. Have a safe trip and enjoy Texas.

Sorry we missed you traveling by. We are in Oceanside, CA with the temperature at 64 degrees and it is 9:00 p.m.. Humidity is at 75%, but that is nothing like Texas Gulf Coast.

How long will you be in Matagorda?

We arrived in Matagorda a little after 4:00 today--sunny and 94 degrees. We will be here 6 months, we think, with the option to stay through March. It's so GOOD to be home!!!!

Glad you didn't run into what we did this March in Texas. They wrote our Big Sky off because of hail damage.
