Need to fix a noisy water pump???
The water pump in our trailer made so much noise that we were embarassed to run it when we recently camped in a state park that did not have water hookups.
I finally found the section of the Shurflo installation instructions that said the pump should not be connected to hard plastic pipes or connectors. Shurflo recommends at least 1 foot of high pressure flexible hose on both sides of the pump. The input line to our pump was a flexible hose, but the output side was not. We bought 3 feet of flexible hose, 2 barbed brass fittings, and 2 clamps for under $8. It is still not "silent", but is sure is a lot quieter than it was.
The hard plastic fittings transmit every bit of the pump noise up and down the water lines and through every wall and cabinet which seem to act like drum-heads to amplify the sound.
I think Keystone should be ashamed (and Shurflo should be mad) that these pumps are not installed according to instructions, thereby upsetting and frustrating many owners - or at least ME!
