Landing legs binding

Today as we were pulling out, I connected the hitch, put some weight on it and did a pull test to confirm the hitch is really hitched. To do this I fully apply the trailer brakes and put the truck in drive and lightly pull on the trailer. All went as usual.

After the test I could not raise one of the legs. I tried power and manual but it was not moving.

I occurred to me that it might have bound when I tested the hitch connection, so I took as much weight off the hitch as possible and gently moved the truck. The stuck landing gear started scooting back and freed itself. All worked well after it unbound itself.

Any thoughts about what I did wrong or suggestions?

My Montana is a 2003 3255RL

I would put chocks in front of the tires before doing a pull test...not relying on trailer brakes/truck controller to hold it back. You could also just pull breakaway cable...but chocks are more reliable to me. John

I agree and you should do the pull test with the landing gear just free of the ground so your not dragging it at all.

X2 what Dick said. Don't leave the legs on the ground.
