It's just some of the new RV owners out there ... they'll help raise insurance rates for the rest of us, unfortunately

I've seen that video several times and just wonder how this guy thought it would be a good idea to take his 5th wheel through ANY drive through. He should have his driver's license suspended for this blatant stupidity.

Since we own a DQ I can tell you that while that is an extreme it isn't unusual. We've had to rebuild the drivethru cover three times and patch it more times than I can count dispite the fact that we have a 4" PVC pipe hanging just past the menu board that is several inches lower than the overhang. We even had one woman pull a motor home up to the overhang while we were hanging out the window signaling NO and still she slowly pulled up until she carefully broke all her clearance lights.

Trust me, I've seen a lot of experienced older RV people do some pretty stupid stuff. I don't exempt myself!

But lets face it, most of us know it's a tight fit with a Dually, why in the world would we think we could make it with the Trailer attached?

Stuff happens, but that was a bit extreme.

I almost pulled bonehead myself after having been towing for several years. Pulled into a Sonic Drive-in in Childress, TX (if not familiar, they have no inside seating but have long awnings down both sides of the building with multiple spaces where you pull in, order thru a speaker, and a car hop brings your food to you). It was located in a shopping center parking lot so a lot of room behind. I pulled up from the rear with the truck cab in parallel to the awning under the shade of the rear space since it was around 104 that day and the trailer straight back into the parking lot. Ate, got out and walked the dog, got back in, put in D, hit the throttle, started moving, and stomped the brake. Sigh of relief. Didn’t look but couldn’t have been but inches from crashing the awning. Carefully backed out and left the way I had entered.

All it takes is a moment’s lapse. Be careful out there.

Please don't blame the dually, my daily driver is the TV dually. I drive thru drive throughs all the time WITHOUT the 42' RV though. Even when someone is pulled to the side waiting for their order I can still squeeze by.

If you noticed my Signature, you'll see I drive a Dually. I just said it's a tight squeeze, not that it can't be done, I've been thru Band Drive Thrus with barely an inch to spare on each side.

What concerns me is the apparent blind rage this person had. A part of me feels sorry for him and whatever is going on in his life that made him react the way he did.

I'm sure if most of us were to get into a spot like that we'd just back out the way we came.

Sooooo, If you watch, the "black Coal" rolling as numbnutz is making his multiple attempts, it explains a lot.
Let me put a tuner in my already powerful Ford, and I am invincible.

Ya can't teach common sense...

bet this is an insurance scam. Probably did something to total his camper like flooded it and now full of mold so it`s useless to any one and the insurance dosen`t cover that but if he wrecks it he`ll get a pay day.
Sorry wife`s an insurance adjuster and she says she see this kind of stuff all the time. big part of her job is weeding out the con artists.

I have NEVER been that hungry, drunk and hopefully not that stupid to even attempt it. He should be banned for life from towing anything.

Let's hope they give him a zero value on his payoff.

It looked to me like it was a transporter. DOT numbers on the TV? They hire anyone that can hold a wheel these days.
