Sleep Number Bed Hoses Routing

Hello,
Today I had a sleep number bed installed in my 3730FL. The installation has the hoses connecting the mattress at the foot of the bed. Looks terrible. Has anyone installed this bed who might have ideas on hose routing and pump mounting under the bed ? I’d appreciate any ideas!
Thanks,
Max

I installed mine with the hoses at the head of the bed and cut two holes in the platform for the hoses to run into the "secret" storage space where I placed the pump. Ran a short extension cord to that compartment. Works great!

That is what I thought may be a good idea. Thanks for the input!

If you cut oversized holes for the hoses you can slide the mattress down to put on the fitted sheet and then return and the hoses will feed back in. The holes I cut were about 1 1/2" diameter.

We also installed our mattress so the hoses run into oversize holes at the head of the bed with the pump in that cavity as well. One hole drilled out the side of bed near the head allows for the 120vac power cord to plug into the outlet like it was meant to be that way.

We've done the same as the other posters here. Put the pump at the front headboard area with two oversized holes through the plywood cover for the hoses to connect to the mattress and a hole out the side of the bedrail for the ac power cord to plug in. All you have to remember is to disconnect the plug from the outlet before retracting or putting out the bedroom slide ( don't ask me how I know this). Enjoy that Sleep Number mattress. We have three of them and really would not have anything else.

Excellent - thank you. Liking the mattress a lot so far. Big difference coming off a 23 year-old Tempurpedic - which I took a chain saw to yesterday.

We just purchased a sleep number R5 mattress and they don’t come with 90 degree fittings anymore. I completely understand cutting holes in the plywood and running the air hoses under the bed, but with the straight fittings how do the hoses bend 90 degrees without kinking, Do you just not push the bed flush against the slide wall. What do others do to solve this issue?

With two holes that are 1.5 inch or larger and near the topmost part of the plywood at the head of the bed, the hoses slip through the holes and naturally go into the cavity. No right angle fittings needed. Love the added foam of the R5, but they don't have the foam separation in the middle that used to be there...so you will feel the other person move.

We have a King Bed, so lots of overhang. So our pump sits under the overhand at the side of the platform and I just route the hoses on the top and to the side. Been doing it that way not of over 10 years and 3 rigs.
