Washer/Dryer closet door

WE found that the washer/dryer closet door in the new 3475 Montanas did not give enough clearance to get to the controls of the older splendid washer/dryers. After two months in Florida taking the door off to get to the controls, I redid the doors so they open from both sides now. The space is the same with hinges on both sides rather than the folding door system. The latch remains the same. I added a second pull knob on the other door. And a back stop on top for the doors to rest against. Now my wife has complete access to the washer/dryer to including the drain filter.

Am I understanding that you split the door and hinged on both side so that it opens in the middle? If I did understand correctly, I like the idea. I like the idea even if I didn't understand correctly. A middle opening door would not take up as much space when opened for use so as to not entirely block the hall way access.

We did exactly the samething with the bi-fold on our washer/dryer closet in the 3400rl. The door work great and we now have room to open the door to the freezer (which we installed in place of a w/d.
