Shower Floor Flex

We have had the Monty for 5 years now, no issues with the shower. No leaks worked fine and still does. Today I was in the basement moving things around and someone was in the shower. As they showered the floor pan flexed from the weight of the person, so did the drain pipe. Could I fill the area from underneath with expanding foam to support the drain pan better? Has anyone else seen this? Any other ideas, I really don't want to tear things apart, just ad better support.

If you can get in there with some syrofoam that would help, or as you mentioned you can use the expanding foam. In previous topics it was suggested that you weigh the shower floor down so that the foam won't lift it up and cause the drain to be too high

Bob,
My plumber used to set shower pans in a substance like plaster. I think it was made for that purpose. I think you could put that stuff in a grout bag and force it under the pan. When it sets up it is solid.

Bob that is what I did to mine. I changed the drain to a SS one. Mine was leaking in the basement. Then I
spray foamed It. but as charlie said put something heavy in it to keep it from raising up the foam WILL make it do that.
