Lets talk air compressors

I picked up a little 1.5 hp craftsman electric air compressor in a yard sale last summer. Bought it from this nice older couple retiring their Motor Home. They assured me that, "it's all we ever needed for the motor home or toad".

Well I was doubtfull it would air up my dulls, but bought it anyway just to have around for other uses. Yesterday I got it out to air up my bicycle tires and within about 3min the cord was so hot you could not touch it.

I assume this is not good. I got out the old hand pump and was off in no time.

On to my question. I found airing up the dully's to always be problematic when I get set to tow. I would like to buy an air compressor that will do the job without taking too long but it is easy enough to lift and small enough for a full timer to carry around.

Any suggestions?
