New TV, Shelf and storage space

For those of you who helped us with great suggestions and comments when we had to purchase a new TV, you know that he opted for a smaller TV (20 inch - flat screen) over one the same size (25 inch), cause he went for quality of picture this time.

This left a bit of space over the TV, which he filled with a shelf and the DVD player.

Also added some doors, like others have, under the frig and stove. Thanks to all those who went before us on this improvement, your posts encouraged us to do the same!

There are photos at our web page, the direct URL is:

Again, many thanks to all those who posted, helped us surf the web looking for a TV that would fit into the cabinetry.

Are these doors or drawers? If they are doors, are they hinged at the bottom, with the normal catch at the top? Under the stove, it is fairly open, or are there wires, cables, gas lines running through it? I was thinking of making a drawer for this, but it may be too much work!

Mazeeff,

They are doors. They are hinged on the bottom, we found the hinges at Home Depot, match our OEM's exactly. Catch purchased at a RV dealer, installed on top.

Under frig: found some wires, Al wire tired them together so they would not flop around.

Under stove: found a junction box (installed towards back), wires 12 volt and 110, gas line, and we think some antenna wiring. Al moved the wiring back and secured with wire ties.

NOTE: YOUR RIG MIGHT BE DIFFERENT!!

Al won't let me put anything sharp in these areas!

There is room under the stove for a drawer, if you are handy, you will need to put in slides and all that hardware. We think we have more room without all the hardware, but we only put stuff in there that is rarely used.

Good luck with your improvement.

Carol

(for those that want Al to help you do yours, you will have to catch him first! )

Wow them are very nice improvements! I am hoping to talk my hubby into some of these when he can spare some time from the busy work place (he-he) but if he can't...are you for hire? (LOL)
