Health Insurance -- Plan F vs HMO
Since because of health reasons, I am "grounded" in TN near Nashville and Family. I am thinking about changes from Medicare Supplemental plan F to a Medicare Advantage HMO plan this Fall to save $$. Your thoughts are welcome.

I don’t think you have as much freedom to choose your doctors with HMO. Or hospitals either. You have to pick one in their plan. I could be wrong. I have some doctors I have had for years and am not going to change.

I am not "married" to any of my Doctors. Maybe a 2nd view of my problems may bring some new information/options to my treatments.

Be careful with an HMO. If you wind up in a hospital or with a doctor that not in the plan you can wind up with some big bills. You can go to a hospital that’s in the plan see a doctor that not in the plan and still owe his fees. Just know what you are getting into.

We've been using a PPO Plan for some time which allows you to use any Doctor that's in their networks, but that covers lots of Docs across the country.

Yeah, that’s a problem. A hospital in the plan may have doctors on staff who are not in the plan. And vice versa, doctors in the plan may work in hospitals not in the plan. And from what I have read, either may be in the plan today but not later. Or again, vice versa.

I would stay with what you have. Advantage plan controls what hospital, doctor, test you can have. You will have copays for office visits, labs, x-rays, will have to be referred in order to see specialist.
I wouldn't change as you have freedom to go wherever and whenever for care.
