How to identify a Legacy

Other than the sticker on the side and the molded fiberglass rear, how do you identify a Montana with the Legacy package?

I am looking for a Montana Legacy to purchase and I am finding myself chasing my tail when I look at the "for sale" postings on various used RV web sites. Owners usually post a pic of the front of the trailer as the first pic but I can't really see anything on the front that would tell me what I want to know.

Send a message via MSN to dhuhn
Usually it will say legacy on side under Montana graphic, and sticker by the entry door.

Legacy includes a molded fiberglass cap on the rear except the 3790 and 3791 which has a straight roof and therefore is too tall at the back for the cap.

What years are you looking at? The newer legacy models will have In-Command installed.

Thanks for the info and the video.

I'm looking for a Montana Legacy that is 2 years old or less.

I wish that there was a way to identify a Legacy from the front when I'm looking at photos.

Are you looking at dealer web sites for a used unit, or are you shopping private individuals?

Either way, if it has the Legacy package, the seller (dealer or private) is going to list the camper has the Legacy package in a pretty obvious and up front way. Advertising the Legacy package attracts buyers who have no clue what that actually means. It sounds "superior" to every other "middle class" Montana, even if it really is or not. It just sounds like it's got something special. So, it's a very, very good selling point. If it has the Legacy package, I guarantee you, it will be pointed out in a rather significant way it has the package.

As far as I know, the only way to tell from the outside is by knowing what to look for on the end cap and that sticker near the door.

In addition to the sticker and the rear cap, except mine which is a 3791RD, the legacy package includes generator prep and disc brakes. You may be able to see the rotors through the wheels. Although many people add disc brakes after market as well.

My 2018 does not have gen prep or disc brakes. They must have started that in 2019.

They do make the Legacy without the full body paint, like mine. So the paint is not a good sign.

Legacy

Legacy comes with a full body paint. Easiest way to identify it.

I have a "EARLY" 2019 Legacy that does not have disc brakes or gen prep or side cameras, it DOES have back cap, power cord reel and in command and sticker on side by the door. "Later year" Anniversary 2019's did come with the other items, nothing on the front to tell it's a Legacy.

A sales listing for a Legacy model will say so right up front because those of us who have Legacy's know what we paid for all those extras and it makes a big difference in the resale price and speaks for itself.

What model are you looking for?

Not always. The current Legacy package is a required package to have full body paint. But the FBP job is an added extra option, not a standard option.

The only way to tell on our 2020 is a small sticker by the door or looking for options that come with the package (generator prep, disc breaks, molded rear cap, slide out awnings, etc). What model are you looking for? We have a 3761FL that we’ve thought about selling

A legacy package is whatever they decide it is at the time of manufacture.
