Looking to buy 2955RL
My wife & I are looking to buy a Montana 2955RL. We would prefer a 2006-2008 model with king bed. I am all but exausted searching the net. May have to buy new. Found this site and thought, what a better place to look and ask.
Any comments on the 2955RL? We currently own a 2001 Holiday Rambler Presidential.

Hello Budbon, Beckleys Camping Center in Thurmont Maryland has a 2005 2955RL for sale. It is in perfect condition and they have a price of $29,995 on it. Their phone # is 800-424-2267. I have purchased several trailers from them. They are excellent to deal with and top notch when it comes to service after the sale.I'm sure they would give you a great deal on your trade. If you want to look at the trailer you can go on their web sight www.beckleyscampingcenter.com. Good luck to you.

We have had a 2005 2955RL for 5 seasons now. Very happy with it for this period of our life. Will certainly want something bigger some day. Not being long timers or full timers, it's a good size for us now. I did look at 2980's because Deb wanted the third slide and side entry. I backed off when I checked pricing and the extra slide of course adds weight. I think the 2955 and the 3400 are the 2 most popular models in the line in terms of numbers sold. If you like the rear entry and are satisfied with the space, it is an excellent unit.
Who knows? The show here in Denver is next week............

Welcome Budbon to the MOC family. The DW & I had a 2003 2955 unit previous to our current 3400 model. We owned it for 3 years and certainly enjoy it immensely. The main reason for us trading was because of the rear entry and how it was blocked off whenever company (our grown children) stayed over and were sleeping on the hide-abed. We are early risers with our dogs and found it a real pain to crawl over those sleeping individuals to get out the door. Whenever the two of us were rving alone we thought we had the best floor plan available in its size category for sure. As said above the 2955 is one of the more popular models in the Montana lineup.

In this economy, you might be able to get a great deal on a new model.

Out of curiosity, I plugged used Montana 2955RL into google and it came up with many hits for used units. Some prices I saw ranged from about $20K to $30K.
MSRP for a 2010 was only about $40K at one dealer, so actual sale price for new should be quite a bit less than that.

We have a '05 2955 and are mostly pleased with it. Its weight fits out tv right on. As mentioned above we don't like the hide-bed either and also the chair next to the door. Other wise a great unit.

The post about new prices is right on, We just purchased our 2010 2955RL in November for 42k, has the Moving to Montana and Hickory Edition options with King bed and remote. Didn't need the generator option as I have Honda 200I and a Companion. Might add the second Air in the future. I would look for deals on new before putting down 30K on a used unit.

Bud,Keep looking we found a 2955RL 2007,moving to Montana, with all the goodies. This rig went from the dealer to a campsite to their home all under 400 miles used one time.
We looked at about 15 rigs most dirty, dirty, dirty .Oh the good news 20K ,and they delivered it to our home. This was Oct.1,2009.
By the way this site is great all are willing to help at any time
Good luck,and God Bless

hey there, wife and i have a 2955 we bought new and we have loved it and not looked back...some minor problems with the most major one being the bedroom slide giving us some problems with the bottom gasket crapping out on us.....we're in the process of fixing it/getting it fixed...we have a temporary fix on it at the moment and will continue on it when we can.......seems the slide room and or openning for it are not quite square to one another or something like that. but it's good to go for the moment. beyond that......it's the two of us.....a couple of critters and lots of crapola we probably don't really need but we're plenty happy with it.....if and when we trade from this unit montana will be our first look....but we WILL continue to look at ALL manufacturers as time changes all things......good luck......be well..gary

Just traded our 2955 RL for a new 3150. You could check with Walt at www.cullumandmaxey.com to see if they still have it and what the want for it. Worked well for us. but I did put a scratch on one side while we had it.

We bought a new 2006 2955RL in February of 2006. FWIW, the 2006 model was the first one with the redesigned nose cap. We have been very pleased with ours, but we ordered the queen bed because with the king you have to remove a piece of the bed to retract the slide, which we thought would be a PITA.
You'll enjoy the trailer, though. For us it's just the right size. We tow with a Ford F250 Superduty Diesel.

We bought a 2007 2980RL and pull it with a 2007 Chevy 2500 Diesel and it has been a joy to own it. In 2008, we towed it to Alaska and stayed there for three months. The trip from Florida was a great adventure. We normally try to be out on the road for about six months and return to our FL home for the winter (altho this winter it really has not made much difference where we were!). The Monty has been great for us altho next time we may get just a bit larger. We like the shorter rigs for the type of traveling we do. We enjoy staying at one campsite not much longer than two weeks before moving on. We had our bed cut down to queen size because it gave us a little more room in the bedroom. And we already had queen size bed clothing and a great mattress for it.
Hope to see you along the way in your new Monty and don't forget to schedule the MOC Rally in Goshen this Fall in your travels!

The real boss of this couple (wife) decided she wanted new. We've made a deal so the search is off. Thanks all for your response and suggestions.

You'll love the new ones. Should get a heck of a deal, too. If you don't, go to a different dealer.
