Totally agree, get the right tool for the job!
Even then, people will make different choices, and for some even a new 3/4 ton with the upgraded GVWR can meet their numbers.

BTW, for comparison; I am now out of the trucking game but this is the type of rigs I spent the first half of my career in. I still keep up my license and certifications for this and haul occasionally to help my brother and nephew, but it's a young man's game. This is my nephews truck, and the photo is without the booster and jeeps, so this is to haul a "light load". When fully rigged, there are 46 tires on the road. There are days I really miss it.
Now this is the right tool for the job that it does!
