Replacement wheel for 2012 3402RL

Second blowout resulted in destroyed wheel, brakes, possible axle/hub damage. Need to find a replacement wheel. Any suggestions are helpful.
FYI, Had upgraded the tires to G rated Hankooks, had 12,000 miles on them with very little wear showing, checked them at every stop, including pressure, then bam, in the middle of the NV dessert on a very cold Friday night. Had to remove the mountain of wires left from the tire wrapped around the axle, and in the hub, plus remove the breaks.
Happy traveling.

Wow this is the first blowout I know of with G rated tires. Any idea what happened to them?

Give these folks a call: http://www.tredittire.com/wheels
They sold them to Keystone in the first place. You may need to email them a picture of what you have to get a match.

No idea what happened. Did not know one had blown until a sheriff's deputy pulled me over the kindly tell me. Bless him and the other state troopers who checked on us while I worked to change the tire.

Thanks sapest and DQDick, I'll try them tomorrow. Have to work through discount for the tires, insurance company for the damage to the fender, a specialists to check the axle and do the brakes, and the wheel.

Hope this helps some new folks as well. I carry two spares just in case this stuff happens, and I promise it will, more than once.

Kind of sounds like you may need to invest in a tire monitoring system. Won't comment on the brand of tire you had blow out because I won't start anything here on the Forum to cause an uproar! I've put on the Goodyear G614's and have had no problems at all. They look like they are brand new yet and have put on about 12000 miles on them. There is some wearing on the outside and inside tread but that is the way they are made and are suppose to look. I keep mine at 105-110 lbs and check them with a laser temp gauge when I pull over to make pit stops, fuel or rest areas. I also check them prior to leaving and when I stop for the night to see if there is any damage from the road while going down our great highway systems across the US.

If you could post a picture of you rim I might be able to help. I had a lost one of my rims this summer and couldn't replace it. Tredit didn't stock it anymore nor any of Keystone's suppliers, so I had to buy a new set of 4 rims. Kept one of the old rims for my spare but I have two more stock rims. Mine is a 2011 3580RL. Let me know.

Tires are always one of our biggest topics and it's never about what great tires we have. It's always about blowouts. I think, know if I had 2 blowouts I would get did of those tires. If you gave had 2 blowouts you will have more. It's time for those tires to disappear.

Tanner, the 16" wheel style is T04, part number T0466867SM per Tredit. They said they do not make it anymore and do not have any in stock.

Mlh, Thank you for your comments. Without expanding the tire discussion, this blowout was from an upgrades set of tires, not the original OEM tires which had the first blowout. The first set did disappear. I chose these tires as we use them for our horse and cattle trailers in rough ranching country in West Texas and they have been the best we and the dealer have experienced. I will not buy Goodyears due to continuous tread separations with their Load Range E SRA tires. I had 5 tires separate on my truck (2012-2500HD)over one year, and Goodyear would only minimally prorate each tire.
I monitor each tire on a consistent basis-Temp & pressure. We travel about 20,000 miles a year cross country.
Pleasant travels.

I have a couple of questions. The first, are you sure those Hankook's are G rated? I just checked with my tire guy, and he said he has never seen a Hankook in that size and rating. Second, the question of monitoring. I am sure you are checking your tires often, but I think the discussion was asking if you are using a TPMS, so you have real time monitoring of the tire pressure and temperature as you are rolling down the road. If you had TPMS, your tire may have blown, but you would have known it blew almost instantly, and maybe before it blew, as the pressure may have been going down prior to the blowout.

If you are having to make a choice of replacing wheels and tires, this might be a good time to upgrade to 17 1/2 wheels and tires, which will give you a selection of H range tires to use.

Thanks for your questions and input. Yes, the tires are Hankook-Maxi Advantage radials 14 ply size 7.50R16LT. Have never had one blow on my gooseneck which we haul cattle with, have had excellent wear and durability until this one.
I do not have TPMS and will strongly consider a real time monitoring system. I really appreciate the suggestion. I also might consider the 17 1/2 wheels for H range tires.
Both great suggestions. We all are always learning, and what better way than sharing our experiences. Happy New Year.

I agree with the recommendation for using a TPMS and also with what you say about Hankooks. Ranchers around our home base in Kansas have used them for years and we used them on our pickups for years and have never had a problem. That said, a road hazard particularly metal in the road can kill any tire no matter which brand you prefer, that's why I have a TPMS that I use with my 614's.

Thanks DQDick for your input regarding TPMS and the HanKooks.
All very appreciated input.
Happy New Year.

A great big THANK YOU to Roger, a MOC member, who had two wheels that matched what I need. We agreed on a fair price, he had them sent to me, and the Hankooks, purchased from Discount Tire who are replacing the blown tire and the one in front of it because wires from the blown tire punctured it, are being installed today. Getting the brakes fixed on Tuesday with parts coming in on Monday.
Also will receive my new TPMS system on Monday.
All of the input through this forum has been so helpful. Thanks so much.

Glad that things are working out for you. Blow outs are not nice no matter what brand your running and it can and does happen to all brands. Hopefully you can get your unit fixed and get back to your travels.
The biggest thing is no one was injured, vehicles can be fixed.

Not going to get into the fray except to say I agree with the TPMS requirement (just installed mine), but I love this site. So much great discussion and support. This is why we are ecstatic to be part of the RV family. Chipf2 got what he needed and great discussion

Keep on Keep'in on folks!
