So sorry to hear how you're being treated. I would try Good Sam's complaint line and also contact an attorney. It's surprising how different manufacturers and insurance companies react when talking to an attorney as opposed to a customer. No right, but that's how it is.

I agree with others this can be repaired. I would get a new piece of EPDM butt to the old by overlapping using Etrnabond tape followed by Dicor Self Leveling Sealant a great product. At the cap end I would put Epdm under the Cap with the Etrnabond tape I would overlap the Cap then screw down a trim piece as others mentioned then use the self leveling sealant. I did a similar repair on my neighbors travel trailer last summer working well. Just an idea that I know works

Eternabond works and works well as I have used it twice on my campers. It can be bought in various widths and lengths and worth every penny. Would give it a try and still maintain your Monty for those weekend or other trips. don't give up the ghost yet. Lots of good advice here.
Wish you well in what ever you settle upon.

What Dick said. National Interstate Insurance would have a hard time convincing me (or a judge) that the factory didn't know what they were doing.

Didn't they once have a fire hazard around the refer area? Seem's to me they had a recall because of this. A little alcohol in this area and a source. Hint Hint.

Hmmmm may be time for a little foot stomping, yelling and screaming. Remember that story about the squeaking wheel and oil...... Just make sure it's a person in a management position.

I think I would challenge the insurance company, have them prove the cap was installed improperly. If, I do say if, they can prove it, then Keystone would be liable. Insurance companies don't build RV's. As far as your estimate, it seems a little high. Should be about half, or close knowing what we charge at the dealership I work at. Don't give up so easily.

I wish I could give you the advice on the best way to fix the roof but I can not. It really makes you think about these companies we deal with and how much their
customers mean to them. It has become more obvious time and time again that those feelings are only for the green paper in your wallet. The one thing these companies don't like is the publicity putting them in bad light. The one thing that panics the insurance company is the mention of the State Insurance Commissioner being contacted. Make a formal complaint with the State and see what happens(I just mentioned that name to the insurance man dealing with me and his whole attitude changed immediately). Then hit your local TV Station if they have a show that deals with their citizens getting the shaft from a company who isn't dealing fairly and also Good Sams complaint line. Some camping magazines also have a grip line to use. The more bad publicity they get the more they loose and they know it....Good Luck Just put them in the bad spot light and most likely you will get some reaction and talk only to the upper management now, not the lower adjuster they normally hook you up with.... Again Good Luck

Once again you've proved the point - "Don't get us started"

Sooooooooo ExNavyDiver.... does this mean you are going to stick with being the wagonmaster for Q2014?

If so, then I'll add it back onto the "2014 Western Rally Crawl" poster. Oh! Do you have any dates for Q2014 yet?

Thanks!!
