Non ducted A/Cs use?

I have a ducted A/C in living area and a non-ducted A/C in bedroom. So when it is really hot and I run both, the bedroom A/C freezes out the BR and when vents aimed to living room it shuts off the other A/C because the thermostat is in the hall.

Has anyone found a way to shoot some of the BR cool air to the LR without it cooling the thermostat?

I use a small fan at door to bedroom blowing into living area..it blows the air underneath the thermostat so the cold air blowing out of the BR is replaced with LA air. So thermostat uses temp from LA! Works in my rig

You could try turning your LR thermostat to a lower temp.

We always used a fan as well sitting on top of the chest of drawers. I also use different temps on front and back thermostats to get as close to the desired results I want. Maybe between those 2 it would help.

One problem I have is the BR a/c has not real thermostat. Just a fan speed dial and a temp dial with no numbers. I am not even sure it will shut off when cold enough. But I think maybe the fan blowing on the floor may help some.

In the heat of summer, not now, we have three small oscillating fans. One in bedroom and two in rear living area that we use most of the time. Also have a tall fan used to could down, sits in bedroom door blowing back. Our bedroom ac can either be direct or ducted. During cool down, set it direct and at night set it to mostly ducted.

In addition we have a third ac to help blow out the ac during set up.

Just a small fan is all we use. We can often shut the 15K Btu ducted unit off when that too loud bed room 13.5Btu unit is running.

I visit the midwest in summer and often 90-100 out in Nebraska. Daughter in NC last 2 years so hot AND HUMID there too! I don't think a small fan can push enough air from BR to LR in those temps.

We put a 20" square fan in the doorway of the BR blowing toward the LR. Seems to help a lot.

Tom ... my front A/C is a Carrier and is similar to yours with 2 dials. One is labeled is for fan speed, the other is a thermostat without numbers, just a wedge shaped symbol. You set it to where you like it. Unless you set it at its coldest point, your A/C's compressor will cycle as needed ... depending on brand, the fan may or may not cycle off with the compressor. Like said ... we just use a small floor fan to push cold air to the living room.

You could close the bedroom door. Or set the living room T stat as low as it will go.

My fix for AC air flow is by installing a system from "RVAirflow". It seems to increase air flow through all of my ducted system vents. Check it out on Youtube. I have personally talked to the owner/inventor and he was very helpful.

This would be my option if there was one made that fit our units.

What make is your AC? As of now there is a "unit" for Coleman and Dometic. Mine is a Dometic.

One more thing I did was to remove the vents and cut them down so they do not stick up into the duct. This will help overall air flow in the ducts by removing obstacles that create turbulence.
