Slide cable retrofit

OK Montana, I know you are watching!
First off, Thank you for getting rid of the BAL cable systems on the 2022 model slides. It is dearly needed.
My question to you is this, is there a retrofit and process going to be made available? (or maybe already is available) for us owners that have the low quality system?

A process that would replace the cable system, for the new gear operated one? It would be nice not to have to sweat breaking cables and being stranded in a campground somewhere for an inept quality issue that is no fault of the owner.

Montanas broke down for a cable in a campground does not look very well for return business......

Jeff,

It will be interesting to see if someone comes up with a cost effective retrofit. The hydraulics (slides and level up) on the Montana are one of the big things that separate them from the lower end High Country. The hydraulics do add a fair amount of weight to the rig.

While you are pleased to see Montana quit using the BAL system, be aware the Schwintek system has its own set of issues and peculiarities. I doubt a retrofit will be available or cost effective.

Years ago many slide were operated by the BAL Accu Slide system, then came the Schwintek gear system with it's own set of problems, then some MFRs went back to the BAL Accu Slide.
So you figure out which is better than the other. I personally wish our non-hydraulic Bedroom slide was hydraulic like we had on our 2010 Montana 2955RL.
