Camco 90 degree cord

I bought a camco 90 degree 50 amp cord to eliminate the stress in the normal cord.
I was hoping the 90 would hang straight down as shown in the add. Unfortunately it was either assembled incorrectly or my OEM plug was installed incorrectly.
My options are to return the plug, to Etrailer, or turn the OEM plug 90 degrees. How difficult would that be? Thx

You just need to rotate the trailer side of the plug in the wall. It only takes a few minutes to adjust.

Montana has installed the RV receptacle incorrectly for years. The ground plate should be at the 8:00 o'clock position. It is an easy job to correct it. Remove the 4 screws holding the outer cover. There are 3 internal screws holding the male receptacle to the outer housing. Remove them, rotate the receptacle, and reinstall.

This is also a good opportunity to check that the wire connections are tight. There have been more than a few problems reported with the plug melting due to loose connections.

The interesting thing is that we had to do this on our 2010, but the 2017 and the 2014 worked correctly without having to make the adjustment.

I agree with the above. I pulled the outlet at the back of the trailer and turned it 90 degrees so that the plug would turn down. Problem solved...easy peasy.

A bit off the subject but has anyone built a cradle attached to the rear bumper for support instead? I already have 2 cables plus a couple 30 amp along with adapter and another ..... just not needed.

Camco 90 degree cord

On our 2017 3820FK, I just run the cord through the rear ladder and then plug in. The ladder prevents pulling stress on the cord with no additional things to remember to pack up lol

Related to the 90degree cables. Bought one a while back and it worked great. Once I installed it I never broke the cables apart when we would move. Looked like a good weather proof connection and never liked the idea of breaking connections and reconnecting repeatedly. Too many opportinies to damage one or the other pieces. Cutting to the chase... the connection was not completely waterproof and water seeped in, corroded one of the 115V legs and one morning we lost 1/2 our power. Found the 90 degree cable and OEM connection point discolored, disassembled it and found burnt pins on both cables and corrosion. Moral of the story is to inspect this connection periodically. P.S. I did not replace the 90 degree dogleg cable, bought a new 25', 50A power cable and loop it around the rear bumper to take the stress out. Don't need the addition of another failure point.

I bought a 50 to 30 30 foot cord. It is WAY lighter and easier to handle than the anaconda cord. You just have to manage your power use.

Agree!. Unless we need the 50 amp service for both a/c units while traveling, seldom use the 'anaconda'. We are well trained on power usage since this is the first of many RVs that have 50 amp service.

yeah most of us guys know what's going on with managing the power, but the wives or girlfriends are another story. Most just don't get it..

With the AC on nice and comfortable inside I can't count the number of times that the microwave coffee maker toaster and blow dryer or tried to being used at the same time. Lol
