Sofa peeling!

2018 3160RL purchased used in May of 2018. Parked in FL. Used twice (3 weeks total). Now moving in for 3 months. The manufactured leather on the sofa and recliners is peeling off. Has anyone else seen this? I hope Montana is at the Tampa RV Show so we can ask in person.

This is a common and well known issue with the low quality pleather. Yes Montana will be at the Tampa RV show.

Many of us have replaced our furniture because of that peeling. Low quality bonded material. Common in many units regardless of manufacturer. If you do a search, you will find lots of postings/threads on this forum.

Do yourself a favor and dump the RV furniture and buy residential.

Thanks for the info! We will check out residential, and also Glastop at the show. Very disappointing.

The 2017 Class A we recently sold to buy our 5er we removed the RV couch immediately and purchased a new residential couch, in fact in our Class a the Dinette and captain chairs all had the same fabric we ordered our residential couch from Stanton Furniture (made in Oregon) they specialize in sofas. Any way we actually ordered the matching fabric from Fleetwood and had our new couch upholstered to match.

Stanton has just about every size sofa and recliner available so finding one that fits is easy. Additionally this have about 100 different fabrics you can choose from. There is likely a Stanton Dealer near you so you can see the fabrics and furniture quality.

There prices are also very reasonable.

Also note all reclining sofas and chairs have removable backs so easy to get in and out of RV.

Our Pleather recliners were peeling so replaced them with theater seats from Glastop. We went with the cloth on account we like traveling in cooler weather and the cloth is much warmer. Our sofa is still ok after 5 years but we never sit on it but when it starts peeling we will replace with cloth sofa from Glastop.

Very happy with the ultraleather recliners we bought from Glastop two years ago.

I will throw out another option. We replaced our theater seating with a unit from Costco. Theater seating, wall hugger with USB power ports. Unit is a power recliner and leather. And as my DW says, Costco will take it back or replace them. So far we are very happy with the unit.

When this happened on ours I called Keystone and they directed mo to Lippert. My 3160RL was 2 1/2 years old but they offered to replace for free. I got similar stuff that will need to be replaced again but I have to hand it to Lippert, their customer service is great!
