Kitchen maxxi fan roof cover won’t close with awitch

I have a 2015 montana 3160rl . The maxxi fan switch opens the roof cover , turns fan on and off but does not close cover. Rain will come inside.
When I push switch to close , I don’t hear anything trying to engage.
Anybody else ever had this problem,

Does it by chance have the knob on the inside of the fan that has been pulled so it is manual mode?

The transmission that drives the cover is very weak internally, they fail.
I keep one in my tool box, I believe they are less than $20.
replaced both in my '13 Aviator

It could be the transmission or the switch when we had that problem on are SOB it still made noise like it was trying to work but would not close! Try to close with the knob if it has one. not hard to fix I have done for some of are friend's haven't had to do on are new

It does have a handle that I can manually close vent cover. It doesn’t seem to be pulled down or in manual mode.

The switch turns fan on different speeds, turns fan off but doesn’t close vent. It is supposed to have a rain sensor which doesn’t close vent either.
I see that switch is a plug and play, is that what is broke even though fan operates and vent opens?
