Mike,
Welcome to the forum!
There are manuals for the suburban water heater and furnace in the files section. The files are in the second or skinnier brown bar at the top. It is not clear which system you can not get to light.

It’s the stove top not the furnace or water heater
The battery operated ignition does not work. Any suggestions?

Before anyone can provide answers to your problem, you must go to the User CP in the brown line above and create a profile that shows what year and model rig you have and save it, otherwise we are all guessing what you are working with.

If you can see the igniter contacts maybe try cleaning them or adjusting the gap?
Check your battery contacts for corrosion.

If your stove is like mine, lift the grill off and then left the cover up. You can see the igniter knob back side. My connection wire fell off once upon a time. You can check it out a little this way.

Agree with twindman above. Pull the top cover and look at the wires. It's possible the main starter wire pulled out from the hand button or knob.
Another thing, those wires are notorious for cracking. If the plastic insulation cracks on them, the spark will spark where the crack is. Check the wires carefully and make sure there are no cracks. If you find a crack, you can simply cover it with black electrical tape, or put a spot of glue on the crack with a hot glue gun, liquid nails, any kind of sealant.
My guess is, the wires have cracks. Easy fix, but very annoying. If you tape them up and it works fine again for a while, but then stops working correct again again later, new cracks have formed. I've taped the entire length of all my wires for the electronic spark in 3 trailers now. Each one did the same thing ... cracks in the wires.

I found a link to a Suburban cooktop manual.
Hopefully page 16 will shed some light on the igniter wiring.

It's strange that the troubleshooting does not mention the wire from the igniter to the burners. We have the manual igniter on our range, replaced the igniter with no change. I finally purchased new wire, and that solved the problem. There was no visible issue with the bad wire, but the new confirmed that the wire was the problem.

Just a suggestion if you have not started dismantling things yet... wait till dark, or darken the room as much as possible. Then flip the spark button. In the dark you'll be able to see if it's sparking somewhere else, other than at the burner. It's fast, but it should catch your eye. Flip again and again and you'll be able to find the exact spot of trouble. Then, at least you know the spark is working, it's just the wire then.
