Toilet not emptying/black tank not emptying 10th Anniversary Edition

We are having problems emptying the black tank & toilet. The message on the monitor panel says “fault”. Any suggestions?

Jody,

My answer assumes your plumbing system is stock and has not been modified.

Does the black tank cable feel like it is opening the valtera valve when you pull it? Sounds like to cable to it could have disconnected or broken or the valve itself may may have failed. You could also have something lodged in the tank obstructing flow or preventing the valve from opening.

You will need to pull the coroplast down to see what the valve is doing when you pull the handle.

The monitor panel only give an indication of how full the tank is and they tend to be very unreliable and would have nothing to do with the tank draining.

It *REALLY* helps to get correct answers if you list the Year and Model of your RV.

What problems are you having? The toilet connects directly to the black tank with no valves. If it is not draining then the down pipe is plugged or the tank is way over full.

Is the black tank not draining when you open the valve? Then AZ Travelers suggestions are where to start.

I have never in my 15 years here ever heard of a monitor panel that shows "Fault". For sure not on the standard tank level display installed by Montana. The only possible fault I know of is the "DSI Fault" LED next to the Propane Water heater Switch - but that is on a different panel (and In-Command may have affected its location).

A picture would help identify what you are seeing.
