Slide -out jumps when extending the slide

I have a 2006 Montana Mountaineer 319BH. Recently when I extend the slide, it works fine until the last foot or so and then it jumps as it continues to open. It seems to close fine. It has a hydraulic slide. Any suggestions for a fix is greatly appreciated.

If you go under the slide, my guess is that you have a tooth missing on your pinion gear. Best of luck.

The jumping could be the pinion gear, but if this is only happening in a certain area, it could be the rack gear on the slide tube. If only a couple teeth are missing, there might not be a problem, but this needs to be looked at because more teeth will probably break off and then the tube will need replacement. We lost a number of teeth on one of our slide tubes and I had to replace it. I've also had teeth break on some of the pinion gears and had to replace those gear packs.

The pinion gear looks fine - no teeth missing. Also the slide track teeth are all there and look good. Any other thoughts? Could it be air in the hydraulic hose and if possible, how do I get the air out? Is there a breather somewhere?

I appreciate all the help and suggestions.

You also need to make sure there isn't some debris lodged between some of the teeth of the rack gear on either tube This would cause the tube to be lifted up as it travels past the pinion gear. I also had a problem with the attachment bracket and the square tube that is bolted through the floor of the slide twisting back and forth as the slide was moved in and out. What was happening when this was occurring was the slide was dragging like it was out of adjustment. I had to tighten up the bolts that go through the floor as well as add reinforcement to keep the square tube from twisting. I added a piece of 1 1/2" angle iron on the side of the square tube and fastened to the floor of the slide and I also added one bolt to keep the vertical bracket from bending when extending the slide.
