How do you keep the bedroom door open for travel

On my 2020 there is a magnet mounted to the wall that the open sliding bedroom door is supposed to keep opened. Now that it has bent and been straitened several times and the magnet has fallen off, I am looking for something to latch it opened.
I was thinking about using the same bronze latch used on the closet doors but can only find m in chrome. What do you do?

I know this isn't as sophisticated as what you have to hold the doors open, but this is what is used on our 2012 on both of the sliding pocket doors, and they work very well. You might be able to fabricate something like them, maybe out of a leather strap, that might look a little nicer.

I was also looking for the same thing. Thought about buying the chrome and painting it but I figured the paint would scratch off. I found this on Amazon. It’ll take a little longer to get here but I can wait. It’s black but that’s better than the chrome.

I have a 2020 3121rl and the bedroom and bathroom doors both have small bungee cords that hold them open.

The straps are old school and they aren't sexy, but they always worked. I guess newer isn't always better.

I purchased 10 of them, in black from my local RV dealership. I had to order them, but had them in about 3 days. I'm using them on all my cabinets that have double doors that come together, and those cabinet doors adjacent the slide outs. Check with your local dealer parts service, they can get them for you.

My Mountaineer has the strap thing. I have used it for 6 years and see no draw back to it.

I use small pieces of velcro where i have 2 doors that are together and they have not failed me yet. Also if you do find the barrel latches that are painted or powder coated then they will take paint so you can paint them whatever color you want.

Our 2019 has the Barn Door style sliding door. It has a stretch cord on the door frame that wraps around the open door and hooks on the inside of the open door. I'll try to get a picture and post for you.

Barn Door tie back

Here's the cord that holds our bedroom door open.

Keeping the bedroom door open

I use a simple wedge of wood like my 5th grade teacher used in grammar school. Cheap and easy

This is what came standard on our 2006 2955 RL, and it has worked perfectly for 15 years now.

Ours too. And the bathroom. I like it that there is no way for them to come unfastened and they keep the doors from moving at all while we're moving.

Janelle Hooper demonstrates them well in this video:

That's what came on our 3731FL and it works fine but it's at the top and sometimes the door would rock in transit and come out of the guide at the bottom. So I drilled a hole through the door into the trim down low and took an ice pick and ran it thru the door into the molding and that holds everything in place till we reach our destination. Once the ice pick is removed you don't even see the hole.

Can't go wrong with duct tape!

Seriously, I also have the plastic strap with snap and it has done the job for almost 10 years (assuming it's original to the trailer). Main problem is just me forgetting to fasten it before hitting the road!

I had the same problem where the strap holds it in place but the bouncing made it jump around on the guides. We take the swimmers/ floaties ( what ever they are called) cut them down and stuff in the bottom of door and it holds the door solid during transit. We use these on our kitchen chairs so they don’t bang around. We also use these on our closet doors in the bedroom.. people put these on the bottom of the bedroom slide so they don’t bang their head.

Never had a problem (yet) with the doors jumping out of the tracks...but I completely agree with the use on the bottom of the bedroom slide corners to avoid unwanted head damage! I cut about a foot long piece of the "noodle" and split it lengthwise and it just slips right on the edge of the slide out. I used bright blue ones to help me see it right before I whack my head on it! (Sorry to go off topic...)
