travel to texas
traveling to fort worth in august, wondering if best to go N.M. thru amarillo,OK to fort worth?or tucson to el paso to fort worth..1st time going this far..TIA,PHIL

Personally I would take I-40 east to Amarillo, the TX 287 to Fort Worth.

I-40 then US 287 is the best route. We have done it many times.

Yep. 40/287. We have made that trip many times back and forth to CO and NM. 287 is a good highway with low traffic and no big cities to negotiate.
