Outdoor Speakers

Before I jump into my first modification project, I wanted to see who has done this already. While I love everything about my New 3750 the outdoor speakers seem rather flat. Since the outdoor TV seems to get the evening movie crowd, I wanted better range and clarity for our Hi Def movies. I have looked at several "outdoor boat speakers" of better quality. Has anyone done this yet? Love to hear before reinventing the wheel!

I hear you, we try to keep it pretty low. That's the problem with cheaper speakers you have to have them so high to hear anything. We are very considerate "glampers" and never stay outside past 2:00 or 3:00AM, unless it's a school night. Then at 1:30 it's lights out! Lol

I have Clarion speakers in my boat ... they have good range and have been wet several times with no discernable loss of quality. Watching a movie outdoors isn't any worse than several RVers sitting around the camp fire full of "fire water" by about 10 PM ...

I know it must have been a clearance issue behind the speakers and stereo, but doesn't it drive you nuts how it is not symmetrical with two speakers, then the stereo, instead of speaker/stereo/speaker?

If you go to one of the big boat supply stores they usually have various speakers set up so you can listen to them.

You might want to get wireless ones so you can put them under the coach next to you and if someone comes down to complain you can point out the bad guy

I had put a couple of good boat speakers on my previous trailer. I installed them low which allowed the volume to be low so you could hear them. Factory install are high and the sound is overhead, so you need the volume up to hear them. The present Monty has a speaker located be hind the door when it is opened, so you really only hear good from one speaker.
