dumb question about Onan propane generator

When you turn on the command station, and it asks you if you want to prime the generator before starting it, is that for Gasoline generators, or does it actually prime the propane generators too? Just wondering if I should be using that feature or not?

Yes, you have to prime the propane generators. It discusses the procedure in the manual, I think it recommends 30 seconds if I remember correctly.

Curious to what the priming actually does with a propane generator. So you say to hold the prime button down for a full 30 seconds? I have been starting it, and it takes about 5-6 seconds to fire up? Maybe it will fire up instantly if I prime it? I will try it next time. Thanks guys
