Dishwasher

We took our combo washer dryer out of the closet, and installed a dishwasher.

When the space was occupied by a combo washer, swapping it out for a disher is no loss of space...and...you can still wash some clothes in it. Drying is problematic! John

That's interesting. I've been on many forums for many years and this is a first.

The DW would probably like to have a dishwasher, but the washer/dryer would take priority.

Great idea George! Never thought of that use but it looks great and since all of the plumbing is already there, why not! I like the idea of the shelf above the dishwasher too. We've put shelving in the area since we don't want a w/d but who knows the DW may someday want a dishwasher and that is just the way of doing it! Thanks for the idea!

I considered doing that back in 2007 when we bought our 3400RL but we decided the space is more valuable to us as full timers. Still feel that way but that is just our opinion.

My DW does have a dishwasher in addition to the washer/dryer. The dishwasher is a very distinguished looking and handsome guy who also does all the driving and the rest of the maintenance on the Montana.

We live in ours FT, and have a 8 X 16 ft shed next to the Montana. It has the New Washer Dryer in it, and we no longer have to finish drying the cloths on hangers. Also in the shed is a Freezer and 5 cabinets. It all boiled down to the DW wanted a dishwasher, the DW got a dishwasher.

The drawer dishwasher that we had installed in place of the propane oven on our rig is by far the best mod we have done on any of our rigs.

So quiet that you cannot tell when it is running. The winterization adds a few minutes to the process, but is relatively simple so not a problem. Your installation looks great and it is a great addition.

Bingo

How do you winterize the dishwasher? Do you just run a cycle with rv antifreeze? What do you do to winterize the the rinse agent compartment?

It's my belief that Bingo pioneered dishwashers in Montana's. Both great installations.

Mr. Pachu,
You are correct, the dishwasher winterization is no different that the washing machine. We use the convenience center winterizing port and run about a gallon through the dishwasher until I see the pink stuff coming out via a clear elbow on the sewer drain. Never did anything with rinse agent compartment and to date the dishwasher has endured sub-zero winters in storage and still runs like a charm. Absolutely the best mod we have ever done to any of our rigs.

Dishwasher Reply

Billyj571,
Not sure which dishwasher you are referring to, but our drawer dishwasher that replaced the oven is made by Fisher and Paykel. It will only work in certain models (our 3850 is one) so measurements to insure it works are needed if that is the one you are interested in.
