Quartzsite 2016 Volunteers/Chairpersons Needed

As we get closer to the official start of the rally, it's time to start planning our events. I am in need of volunteers and a couple of chairpersons for the following events: All updates will be in red!

1. The Meet and Greet Happy Hour to be held on Tuesday Jan 12th. This will be the first time we all get together and kick off the rally. Everybody bring a large appetizer and favorite beverage, chair, and a smile while we meet new friends and greet our old friends.

2. The Pot Luck Friday Jan 15 at 3pm. A sign up sheet with items needed will be posted.

3. The annual trip to the Desert Bar. Even though Jack and Daves plans have changed this year and they will not be in the circle, they have offered to meet in Parker at the Safeway and lead us into the secret location. It will be either Saturday or Sunday, details to follow soon. (I guess I already have a volunteer!!)

If anyone would like to lead a craft class, tech session, golfing event, music session, pole dancing class, or ?, throw it out there.

Paul Evertts RV will be displaying new 2016 Montana's again for a couple of days in the circle and plan on providing us with Pizza and Beer/Beverages one afternoon also. I will be working with George for a better selection of Pizza's this year!

Lippert Industries will NOT be in Quartzsite this year, so no tech sessions by them.

Paul with ARPrv will be doing a session on a refrigerator safety add on. (http://www.arprv.com)

Mac the Fire Guy; haven't confirmed a date yet. http://www.macthefireguy.com

]Mark with Industrial Lock will talk about compartment lock replacements and give us a couple of step support braces for a door prize during one of our happy hours. (http://www.ch751.com)

Curtis with RVillage will discuss his new website for RV's http://www.rvillage.com

Gerry Helmer will again give us a star party with a powerful telescope, weather permitting.

More to come

So, again if you would like to participate, let me know. For all you rally circle veterans, let me know if I'm forgetting anything. And you folks where this is your first rally, just let us know if you have any questions.

Jim

Hmmmm. "Pole Dancing Class" Now that's a class I could wrap my legs (I mean arms) around.

I just might have to show up at the circle to see that

OK Susi, do I take that as your are volunteering to teach a class? Do you carry a pole with you or do we need to get another volunteer group to set up a pole; PapaBeav is that you?

My wife Gerry will do a "Star Show" with her telescope again this year, weather permitting. This could be any evening during our week in Q.

The girls and I are leaving tomorrow and heading west. No pole on board the Montana - sorry.

I did take a few pole classes as part of our advanced aerobics and jazzercise classes and it really is great excercise but I doubt that Quartzisite is the best venue for that

I'm looking forward to the party in the desert. I just hope the desert is ready for us.

********

The desert covers a "large expanse" of ground/area. If you feel unwelcomed in one place.....just move on down 25 miles in any direction and you will find more places to stay! and with the options of many diverse and different people!

Be sure and go to the book store in town. You will probably enjoy the owner's "mode of living"! Not going to spoil the fun of you finding until you get there!!!

Myna, I'm sorry you and Bob will not be attending the Q Rally this year as you would be so perfect in organizing a book store tour for Suzi and her gang and EXPOSE her to the sights of colorful Quartzsite.

Jim, Karen and I will be happy to help organize the Pot luck luncheon, as we have done it for the last 4-5 years,on what ever day we do it. We will need all those that carry tables with them to make them available the day of the lunch. You will need to start a list of who is bringing what.

A couple of years ago, Myna or Janet or somebody suggested we check out the bookstore. Since Stephanie cannot pass up a bookstore, we went before coffee and the sight was too much to bare.

Kristi says - I always go to the bookstore with some titles in mind that I want to look for. Butt for some dang reason, I forget what I was looking for. It's the darnedest thing!
