Window awnings feedback

I just got a quote for window awnings and the rear window pull down outside shade for the 06 3400. Need some "what do you think" Feedback. This is a bunch of bucks for a "personal comfort " item although after a winter in Az we see the need.

The set up is for a singe awning for the double windows in the Super slide , single awning for the PC desk slide out and the rear pull down..The total quote is out the door, Shipping, Tax and installation included.

Total for everything...1017.88

For just the awnings, exclude the rear pull down shade..728.88

We are ordering the Doran Pressure pro system today from RV Cams as that is a safety requirement VS a personal comfort Issue..

That is a lot of Charter bus driving, been going out 3 times a week including this afternoon so earned enough to buy the Doran and make some inroad on the awnings..Do you collectively think that is a fair price for the Awning Package. Your feed back will not influence the purchase if we should choose to do so but I value the expertise.

When we got awning for our last unit, I waited for Camping World to have a free installation sale.

Rich,

We installed them on the super slide (living room). Your pricing sounds about right.

As far as being necessary? -

With tinted windows and day/night shades, you can always block out the sun without them. You block your view, but so does the awning. The advantage is you can block the sun and use the open window for airflow at the same time, sometimes even in the rain. If that is important to you, they are nice to have.

We didn't do the desk slide, as there was too little room to mount arm to make it look right. If you came up with a solution, cool.

Campbud.. I am mechanically challenged in all areas. Brad..excellent information, Never thought about the awning blocking the view on the side windows. The instaled price for the super slide awning is 446.00

Hi Rich, we have them on all windows as they came with our used unit...suffering from the "your 2002 unit is not covered under warranty".
Ok, back on topic they do block views but keep sun out, here's an image but I do not have the rear window pull down I have a canvas that can be draped over with twist locks.

this forum is so helpful, makes you think a bit harder. The object was to help keep the blazing Az sun out of the camper. That can be done with the OEM shades we have. Why spend over 1K on something we can do for nothing.. We will find another place to spend the bucks..

Rich, we have one awning on the big slide that I put on myself. For the others we use the sunguard covers..these you can see out and we use velcro to hold them in place. They are much more reasonably priced then the awnings or pull shade.

Does anyone have the Carefree combination slide toppers/window awnings? If so, are you satisfied with them? If not, why? Seems like these would accomplish two things!!!!
